knocking when turning
Hi Guys
I have a widetrack blob, went to a multi story car park yesterday, and while going up the ramps noticed a knocking coming from the front left wheel, would this be the cv joint?
Thanks

could be cv joint if regular tick tick noise . If it knocks going over bumps and ramps, could be anti roll bar bushes or top mount bearing . CV joints are normally worse when turning and quiet on the straight unless very badly worn

Wheel bearing is normally more of a whirring that gets louder the faster you go as it gets worse and is normally noticeable on full lock.
My STI sounded like there was a bloody UFO chasing it when I was going down the motorway, and I had it swiftly replaced after that!
CV joints click apparently although my old WRX one didn't it just lost fluid as the boot had failed - easy way of telling is get underneath and have a look.
Knocking can be all manner of things, from loose hub nuts to suspension, loose items in the engine bay and all sort of other bits and pieces.
On my widetrack I had a similar knocking noise at the front and it was a loose hub nut, which according to the dealer, does happen on occassion.

Try jacking up the front end ,on axle stands . Use a crowbar or similar to move and check for excessive movement. doesnt sound like a bad bearing but a worn bush. Check on top mount fr loose nuts .
