Ok so having got my spec c 03 with throw away interior I wanna now upgrade my seats as there proper gash and need putting in the bin

So I'm been thinking about my options..

1.... Wait for a standard black sti spec c interior to come availible

2..... Go the full distance and get aftermarket corberu buckets with harness bar and harnesses...

I'm not tracking the car but I want a nice tight fit with the seat but I'm under the impression with aftermarkets / harnesses your badly limited movement wise ??

I had spec c seats in my type r previously and although comfy didn't really support as much as I'd like and with them been in a classic felt the ride hight was alittle to high although I got use to it after time.


Sooooo would love to hear from people that have experience having used both, I love the look of the corberu aftermarkets but are they impractical..

i like the spec c seats but the best of the bunch are the bug eye ones much tighter fit.
id imagine you would be waiting a while for a black set but if the colour isnt an issue you may have better luck finding the blue sti versions.
i know frayz had a great condition set for sale a while back.

I really don't like the blue Alcantera sti seats so would need to be the spec c type all black... Also if I was to go for standard sti seat I would want to keep inline with what was originally fitted,

BUT

I would consider fitting bug spec c or s202 ( i think it is ) seats simply cos there the best but again would they seem out of place ?? Been from a bug and in a blob....

I really want the aftermarkets but don't no if there impractical for road use ...

A proper bucket seat is one of the best mods can buy. The difference you feel when pushing on driving is like night and day.

The standard spec c seats are ok but wouldn't say they where brilliant. That is why seat will be replaced soon

I have aftermarket bucket seats and use my car daily... never really been a massive deal for me, yeah they are slightly more difficult to get in and out of but I think they are worth it... just for reference I have these...

Hi there

We've used aftermarket seats(Sparco EVO GRP,I would speak with Silverstone Autosport/GroupB Motorsport) and they're been perfect and really you shouldn't have any issue with them like for day to day driving or on the track,but I would suggest add BuddyClub seat rails

You shouldn't have limited movement with aftermarket harness,we are used 4 point harness with Harness bar and we are never have any issue with limited movement,really depends what you mean with limited movement

I know someone selling S204 Recaro,but I would expect they will be out of yours budget,tried them only few times and love them,probably best OE seats which I've tried

Thanks Jura, that's what I wanted to no, I thought I'd read that the harnesses gave a restricted movement in comparison to a standard belt but never having had aftermarket buckets or harness set up before I was really looking for abit of general advice on what to expect..

Yes I imagin that s204 seats will prob be outta my range but I do like the look of the Ones in the link I posted below a great price and look the business and see to be getting v good reviews ..https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...ws-anyone.html

harnesses are a pain in the *** on an everday car. not so much the restrictiveness more the hassle of putting them on all the time and having to explain how they work to passengers too.

Hi there

On some bucket seats you can use standard harness without the issue like we can use standard harness,aftermarket harness this really depends on yours needs,but I preferred to use aftermarket harness

And about the best seats,this is again up to you,what you want from seats and what budget is,we are only run Sparco seats and we are been very happy with both of them

S204 seats are awesome and they cost,but they're best OE Subaru seats

You can use standard seat belt if a daily and not wanting harnesses, just undo the bottom bolt near door and hoop through hole in bucket nearer door, then feed the mechanism via the other side hole of seat just so it sticks through it (some maybe short and might not quiet reach) or just so it's easily accesable.
