Default Ive gone and done it !

Ive finally gone and bought an STI after seeing them at track days and my brother in law having just bought a 400 bhp Mitsubushi Evo. But ive bought it knowing almost nothing about them, THEN i think of joining here to get advice, lol what an idiot, so have a look and give me the combined knowledge of scooby net. Anyone know the car?Anything that should be done to it? Do these cars need dry sumping for track days, any advice would be welcomed! http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...e-spec/2694570

Very nice. That's Stu's old car (53), which you could have probably got cheaper as it was for sale on here. Nothing much to say except it's one sorted Impreza. Get out there and enjoy it!

Great start to the advert stating that a Hawkeye (v10) is a v9...

This is a great car OP, just hope you didn't get ripped off.

Wind it in .
People are commenting on the car trader not the car....
Read my last post , the bit where it says I nearly bought it.

I wouldn't fancy spunking 15k on a car to a ****e company who have no interest once you drive away

Company has started to get a real bad reputation buddy....after sales / bumping prices up etc.
I wouldn't worry on the car side of it tbh....been pampered by it's last 2 owners

I don't think so. You were the one that said he had paid 3k more than he could have. Really nice that

Cheers

Just be careful buddy...there's been some name changes on companies house by all accounts , go in with eyes wide open and get everything in black and white..

And enjoy the car

Welcome to scoobynet. Ignore the above posts, you've picked up a lovely car there. Stu took great care of it. Fancied it myself but didn't have the cash.

Lovely example. Enjoy it!

welcome along mate, if it was owned by stu (53) then it will be a sorted car you have nothing to worry about there.. the company you have bought it off on the other hand have a bad reputation for bumping up the prices on the cars they buy and sell on. it cant be helped now but Ide say the car was a few grand cheaper when it was being sold by stu. Cheshire performance have a bad reputation when it comes to after sales, you may have a 3month warranty but going off a thread a few days ago, actually getting them to fix any issues is hard work. use the search to find previous threads about them

aside from all that, it looks like you have bought one of the 'good' cars off them so enjoy it, look after it and maybe youll get a decent return should you decide to sell it on in the future

Not such thing as a V9 or V10 either. Factually incorrect

The spec does look immense so I think the OP will have a lot of fun in that

Hope you enjoy the ride home

So what brakes does it have?

At the top of the ad it has '8 Pot K Sport Brakes - New Rotors/Disks Fitted 2014'

Then further down it has 'Excellent Throughout With Superb Bodywork And Good Matching Tires(GoodYear Eagle F1's) / Brembo Brakes All Round.'

Then further down again it has 'Brembo Brakes / Calipers'

Is this a copy and paste from 3 different adverts?

Someone did PM me about my old car As I said to him it's been sold for 2 years so I couldn't vouch for it condition now It sold on here sub 11k a few months ago.

I did a lot of work to it and then Dave bought it and gave it the power to go with the chassis. Geoff then bought it and enjoyed our work lol

Even though this is my car I would be proper wary about these guys... it could be that they buy quality cars to knock out sh1tters alongside, I don't know, but make sure you feel good about the purchase, if not walk away

I personally bought the original press photos which I sold with the car

Some of the Spec list is wrong as they have copied some parts from my ad 2 years ago

I don't understand the Subaru cambelt change as FB Tuning did it the week before I sold it and the new owner sold the engine and put a fully forged motor in ?

2 Owners ? It's had 5 One owner returned it after registration as he got a company car, second owner had it for a few months before he traded it for a blue one lol as no one noticed the Spec D I owned it, Dave bought it off me then Geoff bought it

The seats are leather

The fire extinguisher is out of date from 2010

The AVCR used to be in place of the ashtray but I think it disappeared under Geoff's ownership ?

My ownership

http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/...cD/snetts1.jpg

It could still be a great car, but please don't buy it on the strength of my reputation as a totally awesome scoobynet member

Thanks for all your thoughts and advice guys, Blimey nothing is simple in life is it? It seemed a good car to me and not even over priced. Will certainly give the car a very good going over and ask them to put on the ramp, and get every thing in writing. Might well get an AA check over. I wanted a spec D as will be using it as a road car as well, i didnt want to shout too loudly, RACE ME ! lol nice to be discreet and quick.

As has been said was owned by member, the company doesn't sell dodgy cars just buys cheap sells high which every car company does.

And have bad after sales service which is most of the complaints ive heard

Thats not exactly true is it? They sure buy them all and sell them high, but they also buy right s******s and palm them off to unsuspecting buyers as quality motors.
