Default Opinions please, am i screwed?

Hi all,

I have a gearbox going in my RB5 tomorrow and the garage said they have potentially come across an issue with it.

the selector goes in and out engaging 3rd and 4th but wont quite roll across so as to engage 1st and 2nd or 5th and reverse.

The box has been sat outside for quite a few months so I was wondering if this sounds about right and just need some oil in it and once run up will engage as normal, or if this is normal for the box to be like this before having the leverage of the gearstick to engage.

OR, it should still move and I'm screwed?

Thanks

Dan

did it work 100% before it was left outside, or have you bought it and never tested it ?

I got it from a friend of mine who says it came from a working car, he got it for the 5th gear setup,

I was just wondering if it being stiff etc would be a characteristic of being dry and left out.
