Lol accidently hit the accelerator instead of the brake trying to avoid a pigeon.. that's the worst excuse ever but if it's remotely true they should be taking his license away!

Read that story in the paper earlier, and thought it was a load of bollocks.

I know that road very well, as will the OP most likely since it's local to us.

For the benefit of those that don't, I've used my superior artistic skills, and Google Earth, to highlight where it happened.

Blue circle is the bridge, red circle is roughly where the driver binned it. Since I'm nice like that, I've also indicated the direction of travel.

Ladies and gentlemen, I now pronounce SN court in action.

Lol nice work.. I'm thinking he got himself all crossed up giving it death on the bend just after the bridge, and with his 'I don't know what pedal does what' driving ability after a pathetic attempt to save it ended up ploughing through the fence, narrowly missing the innocent pigeon that was sitting on said fence!

In all seriousness though they need to investigate this properly, as the story is a laughing stock and this guy was very lucky not to kill himself and others.

There is a chance that there may have been diesel on the road, as it's used by loads of wagons daily to get to the places around there.

It should be investigated properly, it won't though.

Shouldn't be driving then.

Personal view on it, is that he's been giving it some, trying to show off and lost it.

Hmm.. to be honest I rarely jump to conclusions on such incidents without knowing all the facts but the story is just too ridiculous to be true.

I can imagine the call to his dad... 'Dad, I've had an accident, the cars a right off, but I didn't get any feathers in the radiator'
