Default Colin McRae - Remembering a legend!

Just wondering who here has been lucky enough to be on a rally stage in the late 90s and witness Colin at the wheel?

He was very well involved in other sports, too bad rally is what it is today

Colin in brief:

You're title "7 years too soon" gives the impression you'd be happy if he died now.

You are right, absolutely did not mean that and I can't edit/delete the post.

I was driven at race speed round the Goodwood rally stage by him just before he died.

That's a memory I'll never forget.

I saw him many times in the 80's when he was just starting out.
He was driving a Vauxhall Nova when I first saw him, even then you could tell his talent was phenomenal.

I last saw him shortly before his tragic demise at a local sprint track called Kames just outside Muirkirk.
He was putting on an exhibition in a MK2 Escort. The man's car control was just unbelievable.

I was at a suzuki day at Brands Hatch, think it was 2001. Colin landed in a helicopter, jumped on a 1000cc race bike and was lapping like a BSB rider.
