Default Finally the time has come

After 12 years of having to buy a diesel car because of the commute to work, I finally only work 10 miles away and can get myself a Subaru.

I am wanting to get a WR1.

Do you have any buying tips or things I should look out for before parting any monies?

thanks for your response in advance

Get a different model would be my advice namely a widetrack blob or JDM blob or hawk.

The wr1 is nothing special at all really

Is there any reason you want a WR1???

As they carry a premium for being a limited edition car with a different paint job but underneath its no different to a UK 2004 STi with DCCD, as for the same money you could get a widetrack JDM blobeye STi twin scroll which is a much better car!!

But if the WR1 is your dream car, and you like the colour etc, then just make sure its been serviced properly, and had its cambelts changed etc, and check the rear arches for rust, as it seems a lot of Impreza's suffer with this not just the really old classics!!!

Mate of mines Bugeye, UK car, is rotting on the rear arches, and he's the type that is always cleaning it.

Sorry to sound really stupid, but I am just looking on Autotrader. How will I know if its a widetrack or Sti UK.

Again sorry to be stupid but what am I getting different from the widetrack from the Sti uk to the WR1?

Arch extensions, usually have a lip on the rear arches which will usually mean its a widetrack, and they are usually 05 plate onwards cars!!!

The difference between a widetrack UK car and a WR1 is the slightly wider track hence the name widetrack, but you can have it in a different colour then ice blue and you get the DCCD in the widetrack the same as the WR1, you could probably pick a low mileage UK widetrack up for around £9k, where as similar mileage WR1 would probably be close to £12k looking at the classifieds!!
