Help with original number plates from Shropshire dealer.
Hey guys, I'm hoping to restore my car back to as close to 100% original as I can.
One of the things that may take some time is trying to source is original dealer plates and window sticker! Both were replaced by another dealership when the car was 4 years old
I know I will have to get these custom made but I'm hoping someone has a car originally bought from there and still has them fitted to their car or maybe even a photo of them (long shot I know) so I can get a set reproduced!
The original dealership was William A Lewis, Featherbed Lane, Shrewsbury, SY1 4PP - who was also the original owner of my car which was registered on 1/3/2002.
Fingers crossed

Couple of things:
- Have you approached them?
They sound like a family concern and lots of such firms have archives.
You might find photos of their first sales or whatever and good image processing s/w would give you a chance of manipulating a picture.
A good bit of publicity for them as well if you'll be showing it off. - If you take it on the road don't forget that legal plates have to have the plate maker identified, which wasn't about in them thar days.
(A particular member on here would be able to provide advice I'm sure. He did some for me). - Good luck with getting a result.

I was thinking of the same thing for my car as has original tax disc holder (soon to be obsolete) & rear window sticker in place.
But plates removed as went over to Private Plate on previous owner.
I thought I was crazy but clearly not the only one...

Don't think I'd class myself as crazy, certainly a tad nutty though
I've drawn a blank so far. Spoke to the dealership who were good enough to ask some of the more longstanding staff members for info but also drew a blank. Fingers crossed someone somewhere has a car with these particular original dealer plates still fitted!
