You sound like you're going into the day with a very dangerous mindset. Forget about those other cars, infact - don't even try to get on track with them at the same time, it'll only end in tears.
Make sure you remember your cooldown laps, and build up through the day - find the grip and don't do longer than 15min sessions, you're likely to get scruffy after that.

Take spare fuel
Empty anything loose out of the car
Lower tyre pressures for the first session
When you come in set them to what you want them to be for the day and then as a rule leave them alone.
BCs set to say a mid way point and keep stiffening up after each session to find out what works for you.
Take it easy get warmth in to the tyres, brakes and engine. Go in slowly into bends initialy work out which gear to use where what the best lines are, what are the tricky bits. Let many pass you. Build up a feel for the car and circuit slowly.
If you do that it will come together and you can gradually begin to push it harder and at the end of the day you may well be passing stuff that was passing you.
But dont try to be quicker than others, focus on being quicker yourself

i was worried about taking mine out on track in the wet but it was equally as enjoyable as a dry day, take it easy and beware over confidence near end of the day. make sure you have windscreen wiper blades that dont squeak and all will be good. bimmer will spend more time facing the wrong way that the right way!! enjoy

I found changing the ARB settings made a bigger difference.
If the guy in the BMW tries to outdo you let him, just get some pics of him on the gravel when he overdoes it

Some very good advise chaps thanks.
Tyres are eagle f1 asymetrics. 100%fr 75%r. , will be quite good if slightly damp so i van see what they are like when pushing on a bit in the bends. Had scoobs for 11 yrs but never hammered them in tje wet for obvious reasons.
Car also has wl adj arb ( middle hole) and wl solid droplinks , wl anti lift kit

The 911 may be 4wd.
By the way to everyone saying warm you're tyres up, there road tyres not f1 slicks they are designed to operate under general driving conditions and the majority of heat comes from the brakes so go fast and stop hard if you really care about tyre temps.
Plus whats all this be careful crap, I don't think you need to be told to not hurt yourself unless you are 5 years old.
Go for it I say, don't get many chances to stick it to the boss.

Last time I went we only had 20 minutes running in the first 2 hours due to red flags, including 3 cars spinning on the sighting laps behind a pace car.
