Default Best economy out of 2.0 STI

Hi,

Picked up Blobeye STI 2005 yesterday for my wife been on the look out for 9 months.

As she drives like miss daisy she regularly see's very good no's.

What can we expect to see? I had a P1 a few years back & that seemed to do 20mpg at best.

p.s. Loving it.

I would sometimes see over 25mpg out of my Blob widetrack on a steady motorway run between 70 and 80.

They're pretty hopeless on fuel so don't expect too much!

When I picked it up I brimmed it & brimmed it again today.

30 mpg.

I was taking it easy but still fairly surprised may not be as bad as I thought.

I got about 25mpg max (2005 sti) but usually around 20. I don't think it would be possible to get 30! I have heard the PPP map is a bit rich, any thoughts on that?

I have the PPP and the exhaust still looks pretty clean my Megane R26 and my current 330i I would say were worse for sooting up which I am taking as a measure of rich running.

20 - 22 mpg is a figure I would use. You could get 28mpg or 16mpg depending on how you drive.

Lol at the mpg threads again in a subaru. I'm lucky if I can get 300 mile out of a tank and it's not even a subaru. (211hp Quattro)

I do 40 miles a day for work, mixture of speeds on the M62 due to cameras and traffic and the best I can get is 24mpg. This is on a std 2006 2.0 STI non PPP.

28 average from mixed driving 36 on a run @ between 70/80mph

WRX PPP FTW.

I have adjusted my driving style to get these figures, but still make decent progress, there's a bit of a knack to it.

P.S; If you want to stand any chance of getting decent mpg you need a boost gauge.

I don't get all these mpg threads. If you want good fuel economy what the hell did you buy an STI for?

+1 for me too, if you worry about m.p.g. you really havent bought the correct car

unless you drive it below 2k off boost and coast to juctions you will get low 20's at best and if you drive it like the description whats the bloody point of having 300 b.h.p get a bloody diesel.

Tell me about it, it's crying out for a remap, it's as flat was fart off the mark. Once I have the funds it's getting decated and mapped..... For economy( if the wife's watching)

No it was on a Private reg that just came off. 1 owner from new 25k miles.

Needs a couple of bits sorting but then it will be pretty much as new.
