Buying my first impreza. Advise please.
Hi everyone,
Just joined up as I'm looking to buy my first impreza.
I'm going to be looking at classic shape and bugeye wrx's and sti's .
Will be looking to spend 2-3k .
Is there a general buyers guide on the site somewhere or if not it would be much appreciated if any of you could give me a heads up on what to look out for when viewing cars.
Cheers guys
Ben

For 2-3k i would be looking at Classics. Try and get one that is already forged. Rust on the arched is sadly common on classics. Might be worth doing a search on here for guides etc.
Just seen this, and not too far from you:

DONT DO IT- they will take over your life
£2-3k will get you a decent-ish classic, but the youngest classics now are 14 years old now so finding a really good one will be very hard.
Main problem on both classics and bugeye will be the rust on the rear arches, if they have slight bubbling and most will have, they can cost you min £400 a side to fix/paint.
Think you will be pushed to find a Bugeye STi within your budget, maybe pick up a early classic STi.

Thanks for the advise chaps.
I'll keep my eye out for the tin worm on the arches, I'm no stranger to rust as I've had a lot of old fords in the past!
Cheers
