The exchange rate doesn't help fresh imports either I've seen fresh v5's at £8999
Mine must be worth a bob or 2 now then

No longer chocolate my friend
75k on the clock full respray, new arches, fully wax oiled mod list as long as your arm and in mint condition and a 6 page mag feature I wouldn't sell it for 10k

I've got a cracker!
Photoshopped version:
I paid top dollar (£8k) for mine in January 2013 and wouldn't sell it for a penny less.
Good classics are hard to find, let alone ones you could honestly describe at 'mint'.
Paul.

Thats the problem, you travel a long distance and the owner has either intentionally not described the car properly or they genuinely dont have the eye to know what they are selling until it's pointed out to them.

My realistically affordable dream car is a fresh import WRX STI Type R version 6 limited edition with low miles and in standard mint condition. I emailed a well known Jap import specialist for an idea of the price if one was to be sourced for a customer and an 'on the road price' you're looking at £12-12.5k.
A fresh import, nice low milage Type R version 5/6 you're probably looking at £8-9k...

I'm hopeless on computers & all that jazz but here is a link, they are not the best pics on the iphone, they were taken straight after a Driverskill course at Elvington.

I picked up a type r last November, had been looking for about 4 months and one cropped up on eBay of all places, it's a fresh import v6 sti limited edition 191/1000, I traveled from Cornwall to slough with a trailer and got lucky, it's a minter, the underneath stunned me not a bit of rust anywhere and even all the suspension bolts are like new. I paid £6400 has 80k on the clock. All i can say is keep looking they do turn up from time to time. Paul's and steve777 they look lush fella's

I'm in the same boat.
After a White one which is proving very difficult it seems.
Tempted to import one, but conscious I am basically taking pot luck on how long the engine will run before it goes pop.
Ideally want one thats been in the uk a few years and rebuilt with a few 000' miles under its belt.
