Alarm keeps going off
Got home, locked the car as usual, 10 mins later and my alarms going off
Disarmed it,checked all the windows and doors were closed, tried to arm it and it just beeps then the alarm goes off.
Checked the light on the dash,it thinks all the doors are closed
Car has standard alarm/immobiliser
Any suggestions?

I had same issue on my hawkeye recently when weather got warmer. had a good look round it and noticed bonnet switch mount had been slightly bent backwards. Bent it straight and been perfect since (touch wood)
My only guess is a careless mechanic must have knocked it and sun hitting the car made the bonnet expand? dunno. either way seems to have cured it.

The car starts ok, its not sluggish or anything.

I had this on my 03 sti...... My other half rang me saying that the alarm was going off at work!!! I blamed her!!! After a couple of days the alarm, immobiliser started to really play up!!! Called the AA as she couldn't start the car !! and was told that there was a lot of radio interference from the trucks!!! Mmm! Anyway took it to the main dealer and they replaced the alarm/immobiliser ecu at a pants down price!! And to be fair sorted it...
That's my story :-)
Hope you get it sorted

Ok..... still driving me mad!
Battery is measuring 12.8v, just so I've asked, we are talking the main car battery? there isn't one in the alarm itself?
Taped over the proximity sensors and alarm still goes off after a few mins.
Going to try cable tieing the bonnet switch to see if that makes any difference.

Still got the issue, car still starts on the button evertime so struggling to believe its the car battery.
Going to hopefully (weather permitting) remove the scuttle panel and have a look at the alarm, maybe its internal battery has died.

First off, do you know the PIN for the keypad? Useful to know if you start playing around.
AFAIK the alarm backup battery is in the siren module located under the bonnet rather than in the actual alarm ECU unit.
Similarly these links are useful:-

The thread linked below is also worth a read through for information

Check the L shaped plastic alarm actuator on the boot next to the lock, check to see it is still working on the spring, press it up and down.
Go and check each actuator round the car, press them in several times each and check the bonnet one also.
Would upload a photo but the site is under maintenance currently.

I had this fault many years ago with a top of the range Clifford
this went on for months ended up everything was changed through warranty and it still was going off but never during the night ...
So in the end I had to write down times and places it was going off
Then I realized it was only ever at home this was happing
then it was only if it was the first car in the drive nearest the house/kitchen
Then I was making something in the microwave one day and as I hit start the car alarm went off!!! Tested this a few times and hey presto that was the problem the microwave was interfering with the alarm signal!!!phoned the supplier who were over the moon we had got to the bottom of it
Never parked next to the kitchen door again problem solved!!!!

It will be the internal battery in the siren under the scuttle. There could possibly be water ingress too so the circuit may be fried. Wipers off, scuttle off, IIRC it's a 10mm bolt to remove the siren, split the unit check for water. As a temporary measure you can just disconnect the plug to the siren, the alarm will still function just not sound.
I had the same issue, sourced a siren from a breakers for £15. The replacement siren had sealant inside the unit where it enters the siren casing and the mounting bracket is slightly different. Wonder if they have been manufacturer modded due to water ingress issues? I think these alarms where fitted to BMW's too.

Just to add for the cost, get yourself a replacement siren and a 9v rechargeable battery. For the price you may as well swap it out while you're in there rather than messing around stripping it down again.

I've used the codes, 8 flashs from the dash led, bonnet circuit.
Reset the alarm whilst playing around, played with the switch and it worked. Drove home from work, locked the car.....it went off 10mins later. it now arms without beeping at me, which has to count as progress, but its goes off after 30-45 secs from alarming the car.
Sat morning, checked the codes again, 8 flashs, bonnet circuit. Took switch off and checked with meter, seems ok. Cable tied switch down and armed alarm, worked.shook the switch to check for any loose connections, nothing.
Went out sunday......alarm now going off again....bonnet circuit still..
I'm going to try bypassing the switch and just shorting it out, at least see if that gives me the alarm working reliably, then il worry about sorting the switch.
