Default Help and Advice for a Newcomer !

Afternoon everyone,

I am currently looking to buy my first scooby,(had enough of boring vauxhall's) recently i have stumbled across an absolutely stunning 1999 Impreza Turbo 2000 for sale. My main question is what are the main problems with buying the older scoobys like this one, and things to look out for and ask when viewing etc ?. Its got 81,000 on the clock with no engine mods. Any advice you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers !

Corrosion, Fuel Filler pipe, Cv boots, Wheels bearings, Noisy engine, Smooth gearbox when shifting, Clicking from rear end when tight turning(Duff Diff), Turbo boost's well with no smoke, Bushes, Brake pedal bounce when braking, INTERIOR WATER LEAKS!!! plus much more fella check it over very well indeed.

Rear arches are your biggest worries, the slightest bubble on them means around a £1k bill to repair properly cutting out metal and replacing with new. They rust from the inside out so what seems like nothing much on the outside ends up with half the inner wing missing.

Appart from that it's the normal stuff when buying any car.

81k on the clock is pretty low milage and plus with no engine mods it is already sounding pretty good. Check the service history and for rust, other than that it's just like buying any other old car....
