Default Servicing...anyone???!!!

Hi. As Subaru seems to have deployed a 'any old franchise can service subarus' approach, where is everyone taking their pride and joy for a service? I'm not that fussed about mega cheap, just want people that know about scoobs and share my passion for them. Used to take mine to Prosport near cheadle and I need somewhere in the Manchester area. Would consider going further afield IF the garage was superb. Any suggestions guys?

Not Manchester I know, but only 30/40 mins away. Well worth the trip!

Thanks Joe - appreciate your post. Nice to have some options, I thought it was a pretty sparse scene out there!

You won't go wrong with Richard Henry's mate. Just to give you an idea. Both Richard Henry race cars are 1st and 2nd in the top class of the MLR sprint series.
I don't trust anyone else to work on my car.
Give them a shout.

How do you rate them for 2.5 forged rebuilds including going for bigger power and ecutec racerom etc? My current plan is to go with Alan Jeffrey.

I rate them very highley mate, they are building up my 2.5 long block as we speak. I've had a lot of input throughout, which has been nice. One thing I like about the way in which they operate is thier honesty. As it happens the 2 Top race cars I mentioned earlier are both 2.5 motors. One is 500bhp the other 600. Some people don't rate the 2.5 but these guys have achieved great results with them. Mapping wise both cars are mapped by Andrew Carr aswell as my own car which I'm really happy with. Andrew Carr is another great bloke, very knowledgable. He works closely with Richard Henry's and does all their mapping.
Which I'm my opinion is great because your getting consistantly great service start to finish, weather it be a routine service to a full build. Top blokes

Adam is a top bloke and will look after you and your car.
Been going for years and never had any issues with servicing or modifications.

Cheers guys - are any of these garages authorised by Subaru? I have a service book full of Subaru stamps so far. Not sure how important it is in the long run? (probably an irrelevant question given there's no way I'll ever sell!!!!!)

Quite honestly I'd rather have a well known respected specialist stamp over one that says "Subaru" only my opinion mind.
If you find a specialist that you like and build up a good repor with. You will be way happier than you would with a main dealer. Your actually a customer not a statistic like you are at main dealers.

I echo Joe's comments about Richard Henry. I've been using them for nearly fifteen years and can't recommend them highly enough.

Joe - completely agree - and that's what I had with Prosport, plus they were authorised - just conscious of the potential impact on the resale value of FSSH v FSH. These guys sound like they're what I'm after though, so will give them a buzz. Cheers all.
