Snorkel? Are you talking about the resonator on the airbox? If so then yes if you want a little more noise, it's a noticeable difference, you'll hear the turbo more on spool up and get some nice noises coming off boost. I simply cut the resonator off and refitted the pipe, you can do this or buy a specific delete pipe/make your own.
The best noise gains are made by simply removing the pipe altogether, but I don't think this will be great from an airflow perspective and found it overly loud for my personal taste. This is a wheel arch liner out job and a little fiddly, so allow yourself a couple of hours.

As your ru.ning a i.kit I'd loose All of it and make a nice box and fit filter into it...
Will keep out unwanted hot air from the engine bay....
And then fit a huge duct pipe from front bumper to inner wing...

On a standard car with no IK then apparently removing the resonator is bad for performance (only by a small margin).

Turn pipe on ik as well then it will be pointing just behind light..
Will help keep hot air away as it's right near turbo where it is.
Get some thin alloy and make a box for that side arch...looks nice and hides it away...

Get a decent filter, and make something to shield it from the heat from the engine a bit, since you're fitting a cold air feed.
Something like this.
Yes I have it, no I'm not selling it.

That looks a tad better than mine, lol. I looked at rotating the filter towards the headlight but it won't fit that way. My set up is obv different than that. Will look into getting a different induction kit again. As soon as I think of doing something, something else pops up.

Mafless, aye?
Shorten that nasty pipe, more space for a bigger filter.
Old pic, of my mates old MY97. He had a bigger filter fitted, even with a maf in place.
