Any one made carbon fibre parts ?
I fancy having a go at carbon fibre "wet laying ". doesn't look to hard and i've made fibre glass stuff before. Think i may make a center console section ( around hand brake/glove box and gear stick ) just wandered if anyone else had done this ?
also wandered if any one knew if there's a size limit to these things ? i can get the weave cloth pretty cheap and wandered if a bonnet was viable ?
cheers

i ask, because i have only made small ( dash sized ) bits before. and usually when professionally made, large bits of carbon layering are pressurized, wandered if it was safe to do it without that.

I am not questioning your ability but its not a part of the car that you can just have a go at. I don't think even the experts will test the parts like they should do but its not just cosmetic, its a matter of safety as well.

If not, start with the spoiler, because then if it does go wrong it wont damage you car, just the person behind you

Tbh didn't realiae the bonnet was a structural part.
And nope wasnt looking to skin it. Was going to use existing bonnet to make a mould then do 2 layers of heavier weave fabric for outer skin then 2 layers fibreglass for inner skin (for hinges, catch etc to attach too)
Mebe ill just stick to interior parts Haha
Thanks
