Default Anyone do turbos on finance?

I'm sure I've seen a place a while ago that does parts with 0% finance but can't remember the site.

If you have to finance parts for a car can you really afford to run it?

Exactly, if you cant afford the intial cost, you definitely cant afford the repair costs when it goes wrong.

Dont do it if you cant afford it, it really is ridiculous

if its 0% then I don't see a problem, have it now instead of saving up for a few months I'm saving up for a forged rebuild £2-3k cars going to be off the road for a while longer

Plus getting finance for lets say £800 for a turbo paying it off in 6 months does wonders for your credit rating

Basically I only found out what the STI engines were good power wise a few days ago. If I got the turbo for £1k+ I could cash buy the other bits needed and I'm at 380bhp+. If the box goes bang, they aren't a lot. I could buy another or save for a 6 speed.
If the engine lets go (Can't see why it would as it'll be mapped again) then I'll just break the car.

Interest free is always built into the price believe me

Retailer one £1000 10 payments of £100

He pays your interests d document fee probably £80

Retailer two identical turbo £850
Relying on quick turnover of parts and cash flow

These are just example prices
Best get a balance transfer Card
Barclays are doing 24 months % free on balance transfers at the moment
Trick is though don't use the card untill it's paid off !!

Indeed, shame more people don't recognise this instead of falling for the trap

The advice I was given was if you can't afford to buy something twice don't buy it once (house excepted of course). It's advice that's served me well so far.

Totally agree, always allow to buy something twice, because at the end of the day once you start modifying to any extent you are going to encounter problems and it is never a simple fix.

I.e. my turbo rebuild was supposed to be bearings and seals at £195+VAT. I am now looking at over 1k +VAT.

And to the comment about just break it if it does break, is rather pointless too.

That 1k you spent on the turbo you will get about £400-500 for and you are still paying for it on finance, as they will charge you to clear the funds early etc too.
