Default Questions on remapping from PPP...

If I were to buy a 2005 widetrack STI with PPP, I'd be fitting a decat Blitz Nur Spec which I understand would require a remap.

I read a comment the other day and it had me thinking, where someone had a PPP car remapped and though it clearly pulled through the gears a lot faster, it was also smoother and effectively lost the "shunt" that you get from the PPP map so the buyer was a little disappointed.

Thing is, I quite like that shunt (owned a widetrack STI PPP previously) as it makes for a more exhilarating drive. Likewise 320BHP is just about enough for me, I'm not one for chasing big BHP numbers. I'd likely keep the PPP map in place if it wasn't for the fact I want a decat system.

Just curious to get some feedback on this and some options to consider?

Had my05sti ppp remapped bhp340/350torque only renewed the fuel pump, panel filter

Imo lost nothing just gained, kick is still there, more than happy

kept pro drive hiflow cat in as I wanted easy mots rather than another 10 ish bhp

The ppp map wastes(rich) a bit of fuel so also gained mpg (until you push on a bit)

Yes but that bit of fuel that it "wastes" keeps your pistons cool which in turn means your engine will make it to 100k+ like mine has.

Op you could just go for a centre and back box sections and no need for a remap.
