Default Normal wear and tear for it's age? (Bugeye WRX)

Hi folks. My quest for a WRX wagon continues. I wondered, looking at an ad for a 2001 WRX wagon, is it fairly normal to have all of the following work done in it's lifetime, considering it's on about 96,750 miles?

2001 Subaru Impreza WRX with full service history, 96750 miles, Tax until 30/11/14 and MOT until 10/01/15, HPI clear and totally standard.

Great condition inside and out, especially for the age of the car.

4 new tyres, front discs and pad replaced this week and rears replaced about a year ago.

Loads of receipts for various things like new alternator, radiator and exhaust, but most significantly replacement gearbox, and new clutch fitted at 93k miles.

2 keys, and all the service/owners manuals.
Full service history makes me feel warm and fuzzy, but radiator/gearbox/clutch/alternator?

93k isnt that bad for a box, if it was down in the 20 or 30k's i'd be worred abotu how it was treated. Its a perforance car so clutch will need doing, think 60k is about the norm give or take and rad has a nasty habbit of crackign at the top plastic joint. nothing untoward in my eyes

Seller wants £2.5. I wonder whether to haggle much, or if that's a good price...

Looks like cambelt is due. Just got this reply from the seller:

Hi Steve, thanks, it is quite a clean car.
To be honest, I've only had the car a short while, as took it in part exchange when I was desperate to sell my previous car, because of that I'm not 100% familiar with the history without referring to the paper work, that said, I believe the cambelt was changed at about 52k so would be due another one fairly soon.
can see no evidence of any impacts, and it is HPI clear.

I'm fairly flexible on price if you are interested in the car, and want some cash towards a cambelt change.

Thanks

Certainly looks nice, but it's hard to tell from photos I guess.

Yep the rads warp and leak on the end caps. Vids of this in action on you tube ect.

Gearbox, bearings go in the transfer box and there the same sort of money as a replacement box. You would do the clutch at the same time. If the motor is tuned it wont help the life of the box.

If he has just done the pads and discs expect to change the callipers as well. The pistons are likely to be partially seized.

A standard exhaust would be very scabby by now.

So yes all normal stuff.

I've got a 2002 wagon, had from new on 117k miles. Clutch, had 1 of these. Rad, also replaced as they are plastic topped and where the bracket meets the engine I assume it flexed and split - poor design if you ask me and was bound to fail. Pads and discs on mine have been replaced (couple of times on the front) and two weeks ago I refurb'd the rear calipers as one had a seized piston. Exhaust, not sure, got a new stainless system on mine quite a few years ago. Gearbox, not sure, but wouldn't treat that as a bad thing.

Thanks for all the replies I'll go see this one hopefully. Does the price seem semi reasonable with some haggle room or should I be thinking more like £1800 taking into account cambelt?

Any theories on alternator?

Alternators can fail, wouldn't worry about it.

Full timing kit can be expensive for parts and labour, have a search around for some prices
