I'd have the T1R's every day of the week.
Probably gone through 10 sets over the years on various cars. Great wear, good in the wet

I would never put those Toyos on a newage. My Hawk STi hated them.

If it was me I'd push the boat out a bit for Bridgestone Potenza RE070 from Camskill online.

10 sets in a year!!!

Toyo T1R's have never lasted on any Impreza ive owned, always seem to really wear on the outsides!! Vredestein ultrac sessanta on the other hand are a great tyre, Just bought 2x new 225/40/18 from jungle tyres for £163 and they get a great review from most people who have used them!!

Ive had them on my first classic(back in 2003) and I remember aquaplaning going in a straight line down some country roads(scared the crap out me),
then I had a set on my Blobeye a few years later as the wheels I bought already had them fitted, and they didnt last long as they wore badly on the edges,
and I had them on my hawkeye which I have at the moment as they where the only tyres I could find at the time which stretch onto 9.5j wide wheels without problems(until I tried Vredestein's) and they have worn really bad on the edges too!!!

Plenty of people on here using them on there Impreza's, There a middle of the range tyre, but they are also a great in the wet and dry, and dont wear as much as the toyo's!!

Im sure there is a site that does tyre reviews to compare, but for the money the Vredesteins are the best all round tyre!!!

this is the reason i need new tyres the outer edges are ruined on all 4 tyres and the back two are bald on the outer edges

Should use Toyo T1 S not R on a newage.

T1 Sports would be my all-round choice, a great tyre.

Vredestein Sessantas again. I had them on my Hawkeye. They were a step up from the Bridestone RE50s.
I have recently replaced my Continentals Sport contact on my Merc with Vredestein Centos (no sessantas available in that size unfortunately) and I would rate the Vredesteins as equal to drive but superior in ride comfort.

If you can afford to go a bit further, the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti (the next generation) have got incredible reviews.

Recently bought a set 265/35/18s for my classic and the reviews are epic. Blew Eagle F1's out of the water, which I usually use as a benchmark.

Good for wear, wet and dry.

Mine is on rails now.

I use http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/ all the time and purchase through http://www.jungletyres.co.uk/ like most people on the thread.

They seem to have a competition on to win 2 tyres https://www.facebook.com/JungleTyres I'm new on the forum so not sure if this competition goes here?

I have Toyo T4R's on my classic, done 2 drag days and they are like brand new, cant comment on wet performance as i just end up sideways if trying to give it a boot full...

Dry they are pretty grippy and last well

You won't be disappointed, I made the switch from Goodyear eagle f1 recently and am really impressed with them.

Just wondering, if the Vredesteins are good why do they always come near the bottom in tests?

Is it paid advertising by the bigger manufacturers?
