Thank Si, forgot to post here. Stolen from B31 at around 2am this morning. Broke into house and stole keys for this and other cars.

Spoken to the pub it was seen outside of but was too late and no car matching the description. Guy was really helpful and taken details incase it comes back.

It's getting to the point nowadays you needs floor safe installed to protect your worth ..

 

I know it must be horrible having your prior and joy taken,but do you really want to keep keys in a safe? if they want your car that means they'll wake you for the keys. Just leave them where they can find them (albeit not through the letter box) and sleep safe instead

 

I would advise leave them where they can find them, but not all together. Make it easy for them to get what they want but not easy to take everything. Keys for 4 cars were taken!!

Hope they find it mate!! Did they threaten you or your family??

They were in and out without us knowing about, very slick job and used a locksmith non-destructive technique to get in. Safe to say now I know about it though the lock is being updated to one that you can't do it with!

 

They are getting more advanced now,I never use to be into dogs but my two American bulldogs make me sleep very comfortable at night.and work in tandem with my house alarm.SJ.

 

In my experience the car should turn up ok eventually. Hopefully it's been pinged on mutliple ANPR hits.

 

Flush fit double glazing door locks for the win, so many homes are being broke into because of ****e lock designs on double glazing doors.

 

Sorry to hear mate. Thing is no matter how hard they make locks etc there will always be a way to get in. The actual people who invent these new types of locks will know how to open them with ease(obv) and when this information gets into the wrong hands then the damage is done. There's only so much you can do to prevent theft but staying safe is the most important thing and it's not worth your life.

 

Not sure it will turn up as cars like these are worth a fortune in parts, keep checking ebay for anything distinctive

Exactly. Get on PH and work out how much it's worth against the current market ready for when the insurance claim.


Also start looking for it's replacement

 

They are flush fit. They used a technique known as bumping, which does no damage to the lock but gets them in! I will be installing suitable replacements that are "bump proof"


I started last night, problem I discovered today is my insurance is now going to triple! I paid £670 to insure this one, my insurance company will not issue a new policy and best quote I have had is over £2000!

 

Bump your locks?? Did they lift your patio doors up by any chance?? a plastic block at the top of the door recess stops this!!

Had to break into my own house the other day when the missus lost her keys, took me 2 mins to get in, which is quite worrying!!!

 

I won't link to it but it is scary and surprisingly way to get in.

 

I used to be a locksmith, so I know a few ways to get in!! Probably best not to put on a public forum!!

Nope. Police havent assigned anyone to investigate as it apparently never flagged on ANPR. I've bought a replacement but moved away from impreza's because as much as I enjoyed this one, its simply not worth the risk of having another one stolen. I have reason to believe they had tried to take it on a precious occasion but got the wrong house!
