Default Another project.. early gauge pod.

As any owner of an early classic knows, finding somewhere to fit your gauges is difficult. Nobody makes a pod to fit the early dash so thought I'd attempt to make my own.
The last owner has fitted gauges where the radio goes which im not keen on. I want it to look as OE as possible.

I chose to lose my center vents...

I cut the vents out and glued in a piece of plastic with 3 x 52mm holes cut in

I then got the filer out, smoothed it all off with sand paper and gave it a coat of grey primer.

Flatted this off and applied 4 heavy coats of filler primer..

This was then flatted off and then a black base coat applied.

Once this was dry I sprayed over a dark grey top coat. Im not sure this is quite dark enough to match the rest of the interior trim so may have to purchase some more paint and flash it over. Will see how it dries.

All in all it looks pretty good. Once ive got some gauges installed I'll update.

Milsport used to sell what you've made Matt. Don't know if they went bust or just had enough etc, but, they no longer seem to be trading.

Colour needs to be a lot darker to match.
