Default Birchy's STI

I'm back in another Scoob, I used to have a Very Modified WRX than ran nearly 500bhp before melting 2 pistons and strippping it for parts.
This time I'm back in basically a standard STI for the minute. Some might recognise it as Lucko's car. Its a 37k Black Blob STI just with Tints, tinted front lights and a backbox.

I've already started on one or two things, I've removed all the rear badges and pulled off the front tints to keep the police happy. I'm just waiting on a few quotes and the real work begins with full service/cambelt etc. I've also picked up a new set of STI9 wheels which will go off to get a refurb and and already wrapped in Toyo Proxies as the current ones are wrapped in AD08's which I'd like to keep for track days.

Small update. Brought a set of wheels and sent them off to be refurbed. Turns out one is cracked which is rubbish. Just waiting to see if they can be repaired as I want to keep the AD08's for some track fun. Also sorting out a full service and the first few mods. Getting some decent brakes fitted and look into a knock that has developed on the front Ns corner.

Right a good update this time,

Car has been away for a full service with cambelt and all the extras, Its also had some track day pads and 2 piece discs fitted. Found a problem with the rear diff housing so big thanks to Matty and the guys down at MB Developments for sourcing me a new back plate. I've also managed to source some parts for it and get my new wheels fitted to keep the AD08's for track use.

I've been talking with a lot of people and I'm building the car towards completing in a few sprints etc next year and with that in mind I'm looking at doing:
MLR Sprint series.
Fueltopia Barrel Sprint and
Gymkhana Grid

through the year so I've started to hoard some parts for the big build up in the new year so far with some GT Spec 2 headers and a set of HSD Mono Pro coilovers to go on the car. I need to order a rear ARB to help kill the understeer and produce a bit of lift over steer and then start with more power bits as the car is basically standard power currently.

anyway Pictures, everyone loves pictures.

As it was cleaned last weekend

Switch to the new wheels

Sexy new brakes

Collection of parts coming together

and how it stands currently

I've only done bedding in plus 100 miles so far, I'm really impressed. Rode in an evo with them fitted first and was impressed then. Good bite from cold although does improve with heat due to the track side of the pad. Very little noise too. Would recommend them

They do, With the AD08's it looked ok due to the sidewall size but hate how it looks with the road tyres. hopefully lowing it in a few weeks with the HSD's will help a lot!

Thanks for the feedback I will let my mate know,you'll find that cold bite performance on most uprated brakes are the same even with performance friction disc and pads which I swear by.SJ.

Right time for a update, its had a few more bits done, its now got HSD MonoPro Coilover on although I've not took any pictures since then and removed the front splitter, I've also added a whiteline rear arb and hoarded a few more parts away such an group N engine mounts and a rear diff mount kit.
I've also started on a bit of a tidy up of the bay too as well as a few other marks too.
Just some updatedish pictures;

also at work today it found a friend in the car park;

Shh Lucko, stop trying to tempt me,
Tell me about it antonio99er, costs me a fortune!

Some more pictures of how it stand this morning, spent a bit of time tidying the engine back up as was a little bit grubby, a lot happier now;

Also given it a quick clean this morning to get the salt off it and to show how it looks now on the coilovers and without the spliter;

Also found out it has a new party trick;
