My bugeye - just got the modding bug
Hi all,
Heres my Bug, bought in Oct. I planned on keeping her standard, but that hasnt lasted long. Going to be long and slow due to ££s, but nice to have a record of progress we're making. Starting as I got her -

Thanks Johnny, No plans to change the spoiler at the moment, but having seen Craigs UK300 one, that could change if one becomes available at the right price.
Do you mean the newer grill? Its a standard one with the badge removed, polished and some mesh cut to size and Alu sprayed and re-badged. Was an ebay buy that we finished off.

Not much happened for a while, with Christmas and bit of a lack of ££s
Only addition are some carbon engine bay parts.
Things should start happening again very soon! Booked in for coilovers during half term and possibility of some carbon detailing exterior and maybe roof, and STI scoop too. Will be quite a few more pics comming very soon and I can't wait!!

Thanks tommy, went for 9.5s on 225s mate. Getting abit of rub on hard right handers, so hopinh the coilovers might help that. Also thinking I might need arches rolled to help, just finding it hard to find someone to do it round here.

Been a while since I added anything on here, so a few bits to add,
first off we fitted a nice STi interior, great comfort and looks so much better!!
Then we got a set of bonnet dampers from Crazyspeedfreaks g/b, really pleased with them!! and a shiney oil cap
Then it came to MOT time, was expecting the brakes to need changing so already had a set of Godspeed disks and EBC orangestuff pads waiting, but didnt expect the capipers to be totaly seized and beyond repair so quickly got a pair of calipers and had them reconed, so while at it we replaced the brake fluid and fitted HEL braided hoses and stripped the rears too. To finish off the brake upgrade, we got a brake stopper from Tegiwa Imports. Its not easy to tell how much effect each single item has changed things, but as a whole, they are great, just bedded in now and stop awsome!!
Last couple if items, a Richbrook gear ****, fuse top cover and blanking plate, these still need some work to get right. Unfortunatly, the silver cd player surround was one of my good ideas .... that was really a idea and will be swifty delt with, and I'll never go near paints again!!!
Few things on the cards for this weekend and will try not to leave it so long next time. Take care all

Thanks Craig, always good to hear from someone with a car as nice as yours! Was just abit cheesed off at the time, but at least we know now that everything with the brakes done and done right, so shouldnt have to touch them again for a while. Are you at japfest mate?

Latest changes are dividing opinion abit (even within our household). I'm pleased with it though. Will be a little while before next update as we're putting together all of the parts (have started assembling them though )needed before starting the next phase.
