Thumbs up New year new project

My car has been messing about for a while now . Its been overheating for a - thought I sorted it a couple weeks ago but found out today that I haven't.... and now there is a strange grinding noise .... which sounds like tensioner pulley, but I maybe wrong.

So I think now is time for a upgrade....

Currently,

2002 wrx
Sti topmount
full decat
K&n typhoon air intake
walbro fuel pump
pink injectors
CDF LIGHTWEIGHT PULLEYS
CDF DROPLINKS
KSPORT 8POT 330MM FRONTS

Not sure if I should go down the ej257 route or stick with what I have got, But I think this is a good chance to get our parts we make on the car ....which I should have done years ago

For the upgrade I already have ..

CDF Racing stainless/alloy Cam pulleys

CDF Racing Parrell fuel rails

WISECO PISTONS/ MANLEY RODS

CDF ALLOY PITCH MOUNT
CDF OIL CAN

Cometic head gaskets , arp headstuds , acl bearings .

Parts on there way

CDF Adjustable coilovers
CDF Adjustable anti roll bars
CDF Anti lift kit
CDF Brake set up front and rear

Parts to get :

New turbo
Currently in talks with a supplier in Japan, which hopefully if all goes well after we test this out will start suppling them

Cosworth timing belt

New clutch and flywheel

Parts I am thinking off ,

uprated throttle bodies and pulleys,

All I need now is for someone to build it for me

Chris

Sounds interesting, I'll be keeping an eye on this as I'll be after a turbo this year, but not too much as I want to keep the standard internals and retain driveability with a decent power hike

You could always try Fiestaboy, recently laid off by Zen as they cut back, I know he's looking for work although Bucks to Kent is a hike

Ideally jon , If I could get someone like that with a good background that would be great, that could work from our place aswell even better... and if they was cheap ....even better still

Drop him a PM or check out his post in the Southern section and post a reply

I won't see him for a couple of weeks but he's doing some work on mine ahead of the MOT and then he's going to port my headers for me

Excellent Choice,

The WRX cams will be slightly restrictive. I would suggest just getting some STI 5/6 heads as they will bolt on with little fuss and flow alot more air. This combo really does make the 2.5 come alive.

Rods and pistons in the 2.5 block are a must have if you've got the means.

Going from 2.0L to 2.5 was one of the best things I have ever done.

You won't regret it.

Chris - I'd be more than happy to come over for a few days to build up and install your new motor.

Hi Chris,

That looks like the Tractive manifold. Reverse is probably not necessary for the level your aiming at ... it all helps, but as good value for money ... not imho. A decent front mount is worthwhile though.

Cheers
Richard

Since my last post...... in January I haven't had the chance to get my car sorted

But it is now booked in with Rich ...(Fiesta boy) to come and get it sorted...

So, I am going for a new ej257 block and Nitride-treated Crankshaft - it's on it's way right now frm the states

I already have our Cam pulleys, new TD05 20G turbo, Manley piston & rods, New oil pump and pink injectors..
Will also be using our newage fuel rails .

We have also starting designing some new 6 pot calipers on our cad cam.... which will be a big project for us , Will be designing them to suit some peformance friction discs and pads... should be interesting

Along with pretty much everthing else we already do for scoobies

watch this space as will be updated quite a bit from now

Cheers chris

Chris there is little gain to be had by going reverse manifold, therefore may i suggest you keep it in standard position and just ensure you have a nice FMIC to go with the lot and a lot of nice shiny stuff should keep you busy with detailing and cleaning and also look the part.

Considering i'm not to far from you if you get stuck or need anything let me know, although i am sure Rich will have everything within his motor.

Will be keep the standard manifold baly but if we get time may machine a new larger throttle body

Mark, yes we can... I think I have drawings for them somewhere, will check.
although we are quoting silly lead time unfortunatly as we are still swamped.... do have a new guy starting next week though
