Homemade 22b style front wings
To cut a long story short, Im respraying my car in summer in gloss white and stripping and paiting the interior aswell. I also wanted slightly blistered front wings so my wheels would tuck in futher so i can drop my coilovers a bit as they are curently set at standard ride height as arches aren't wide enuf and tyres rub and catch. I don't wanna run smaller tyres like everybody has told me to do. As far as im concerend, subaru fit 225, 45,17 to new age sti rims, so im going to do th same (there on a classic before i get any sarcy comments about them catching etc etc!!!)
I looked into HT auto's 22b rep wings, and decided against them for a number of reasons.
1. most importantly, i think they are too expensive.
2. my rims would look lost in them, and im not using spacers as i detest them
3. the car would look rediculous without the rear ones wider and the full kit is even more expensive.
4. grp is not very strong on its own so dont fancy wings constructed soley of grp.
So.................. I set to making my own wings!!!
My old wings were damaged thanks to the wheels giving them a good bang from underneath due to the luxuary pot holes he have round our neck of the woods!!!!
On that basis im using the old wings as a template.
As mentioned above im also respraying the car and doing a few other mods, as the car is off the road till end of sept. Im going to take lots of pics and keep this post updated as there aren't alot of wagon project threads so i thought id throw my penny in.
first Pics will be up later or tomorro.
Hope you enjoy reading and watching. Any comments will be glady regarded!!!!
Cheers guys.

PROGRESS UP-DATE
A couple of pics from todays efforts.
Took tape off the wing i bonded yesterday and all looked ok. foam filled at the back of the mould to support it and stop it flexing!
Did a bit more prep on the drivers side, flatted it ready for some more fibery glass!!!
Fiber glassed over low spots and fiber matted over indicator hole.
About half way through the filling and sanding of the new wing, but its coming to.
Not comp done but with a bit more work the face of the wing will be hunky doary. Will then be taking wing off and sorting out the underneath side of te arch and ill be cutting away the original arch thats now under the mould, then i'll have to have a think about the arch linning/splash gaurds!!!!

UP-DATE
Did a bit more sunday and an hour after work 2day.
Yesterday whilst waiting for filler and fibery glass to dry etc, i butcherd up and old facelift scoop i had in my wisdom of making my own custom reverse scoop. Here are two primary pics of it fitted to the car.
Today i filled a couple of blemishes after i had filler primed it yesterday so i could see what was what.
Started flatting i tonight and its looking ever better. Gave it a coat of white primer tonight and thats where we're up to. Just a bit more work needed on the arch line, and i,m working on a way of fixing the arch linrs back in!!
Hopefully by tuesday/wednesday evening it'll be dun and i can concentrate on the drivers side!!!!!

Cut and shut im afraid, a proper butchering up job. If you cut the top of and turn it round, then bond it back on you get the basic shape and then the rest is however you want it to look... bit of a ball ache but beats paying £100 quid for basically the same thing!!!
