building a track car part 5
hi chaps a while ago i started building my new track car which is co owned by my no 2 son kevin
we posted up some suspension mods etc here is some body prep ,hope you like
type ra
with all its sponsors
car then striped out of all interior ,anything that burns, all soung deadning and all brackets that are redundant
all wiring disconected dash removed
the full floor scraped and sanded
brackets for cage welded in
hyd h/brake bkts made to take this
who is the good looking guy in the welders helmet
the floor has been stich welded for extra strength
the floor bungs also filled in for strength
because we are using a bolt in cage we added a tube to the rear floor braced to the rear part of the cage mounting brackets(side impact protection
with all welding done ,inc removing seat bkts the interior was made ready for painting ,she now looks like this
we are now ready to start rebuilding the interior ,trying to keep weight to a mimimum. the crash x brace har been welded for strength and powdercoated red along with the cage .both pedal boxes modified for competition . now ready for the brake hoses to go in with hyd hand brake. we will have 2 h/brakes and a front to rear brake split instead of diagonal . all hoses will be aeroquip .
i will post more as we progress geo
