when we took engine out and began to strip it,
we did find a couple of things..
INLET MANIFOLD--gasgets were not in good shape.
REAR CRANK SEAL-- was leaking ,so clutch and gearbox had bit oil on them.
CAMBELT TENSIONER--was leaking oil.

The clutch cover may be 40% uprated but the friction plate is not. It is a standard OE replacement (I can tell you that from the pic).

I've posted about ebay clutches before - it's a shame people are still getting caught out.

if a genuine 400 is your goal then you may have to consider another blower.

A TD05 20G will make 400 with the other mod's Martin is making, I know of an owner of a Bugeye that is running an 18G and he has a well documented 400 with that.(Ninnybobs) I'm sure Martin has done his homework

NO meth here !!,

as rob says i have done a lot of info searching with other members cars
spec / running / power / delivery and weighed up pro,s and cons .
after run in and before remap fuel reg, hybrid fmic , 650 injectors will be fitted.

block was drilled out to spec of oversized pistons,

rods fitted to crank then block fitted.
now time for pistons.
as we inspected valves they were not worn just minute black specs around valve ,
so all 16 were shimmed and cleaned.

a genuine 400 from a 20g is going to be the upper end of itss capabilities, especially on pump fuel. Figures aside it should go very well and iirc the surge issues sometimes experienced with the 20g on a 2.0lt are no where near as common on a 2.5

I'm thinking of going down the meth mix but want to wait until I have fitted my equal length headers and 3" system. That way I can try and asses the individual gains.
