A small project for 2005
here I go again,
I purchased a Subaru Impreza reddish blue MY98 PPP with a noisy engine but still running in November 04 and got the following with it.
STI V5 rear spoiler
STI front splitter
Fully colour coded side skirts and mirrors
Smoked indicators all round
PIAA high density driving lamps
Full prodrive quick shift pack
Full prodrive fast road /track suspension pack
Prodrive alcon 4 pot brakes with goodridge hoses
Lamco boost gauge
Forge dv VTA
Samco hoses
Front strut brace
afterburner back box Hayword and Scott
17" Technomagnisia Monaco wheels
My plans are to rebuild it and hopefully get a safe and reliable 350bhp with similar torque. My last attempt at this ended in tears see link - http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=200666
I have purchased the following bits already that will be put on the car when the engine is finished and ready to be refitted, I feel this list will grow
Blitz dv vta
Arrows 5.4 kg flywheel
Haywood and Scott down pipe and centre section
Oil catch tank similar to the helix one on the group buy
Unequal length headers (OBX)
Rear lower cusco strut brace
A complete set of autometer gauges like the bf defi range
Parts that are still on my shopping list are as follows :-
Apexi power fc
550 injectors with fitting kit for phase 1.5 rail
Walbro fuel pump
SX fuel regulator
TD05 FE turbo
Exhaust wrap and plenty of it
Cusco rear upper and front lower 4 point strut brace
STI 7 bonnet scoop
I’m just waiting on the out come of the engine strip down before I start looking for my new internals, I don’t really want to go the 2.5 route but we will see. I’m looking to have the car back on the road late February early March, if you have any suggestion please feel free to add to the thread. I have spent many hours reading through threads on engines, turbos etc etc and think all the above will make a reliable daily runner.
Mind you I done that last time and it still went **** up

You know where I'am if you need a hand with anything.
Come talk to me about an SX and exhaust wrap at the meet.
Right off to finish writing my Project thread!!

That sounds an excellent start, only a few bits to do!
Interested why you have listed the Cusco rear/lower brace but have missed out some of the Whiteline parts that will give (IMHO) more, namely the replacement 4 lower adjustable arms, track control and a wider rear track.(plus fitted with poly bushes)
We need pictures.
I'm almost hoping for very selfish reasons, that you go for a 2.5 or 2.2 engine. Is this purely on a cost basis or having a good starting point for (I guess) an 18g TD 05?
The Project section is certainly alive and well

Justanutter - I haven't got any pictures to hand as the car is in canterbury 70 odd miles away, but I can tell you that its in excellent condition. I'll have a look at home to see if I can find the original photos from the seller (I believe he is on on here but I dont know his user id)

Here you go
Right since posting the project I have managed to get hold of a few other bits and some all important photos
I have now got the injectors and the fitting kits (nice one Carl)
The flywheel was from my old scoob which I sold on but was never fitted to their car so I bought it back of him, it has been re-skimmed and balanced and yes it did get a little hot
The old OBX headers have really seen better days and I have noticed a crack so I went for a new set from Megan and got them shipped over for less than £200 and postage was about £60 give or take a couple of quid.
Old ones
Nice new bling ones
The turbo was a bargain from a web site we all know to us, £150, it just needs an overhaul FE conversion and a few other bits added
The exhaust was another bargain from scoobynet I may yet change this for a full Megan 3 inch system, anyone got one? How loud are they?
I have also got the rear strut brace, a catch tank and a blitz DVA. I have ordered a clutch from the states as well so should have that in the next couple of days/week.
That’s about it for this month, if anyone wants closer pictures of the headers before they get wrapped, mail me, I think these were an absolute bargain for the money. I have been told that they are more unequal than the obx so should keep that rumble we all love
I think that's about it

Yep I've gone for the ej22t cdb and a td05 fe 18g, the turbo got collected today by turbo dynamics and the block will be at barretts in 2-3 weeks thanks to Mark@Lateral
Just need to sort out the ecu now gems or apexi, I like the thought of 2 fuel maps 95/98 ron and the als switch, a friend of mine has it on his and it puts a smile on my face everytime he uses it.
I'll put up some more pictures when the turbo is back and the engine has been delivered.

I'm not looking forward to the wrapping, as for the day by day account I'll have to pass that over to Phil at Barretts. He's the lucky chap that is bolting it all together, however, he has been given a cheap camera to take some pictures.
I done a lot of the work myself last time and it went **** up, so I'm not taking any chances this time.

Quick Update,
I have gone for the ej22t block and walbro fuel pump from Lateral performance
I was going to use a fse fuel reg but have just got a nearly new SX item at a very good price, the turbo has been sorted by Turb dynamics picture to follow.
The ecu has been ordered and will be here in the next 2-3 weeks so that gives Phill at Barretts a little time to put it all together.
Roll on the middle of March.

Nice to met you again Bryan and thanks for the hard water pipe. It sould be appearing in a 400bhp engine soon
I now have no more excuses for not putting it all together.

It's been a couple of weeks so I thought I would take a trip to Barretts to see what was going on and to deliver a few more bits and to take a few more bits off to sell.
To start with I removed the old wheels as I was going to get them refurbished but no need to now coz whilst I was there a customer came in who had a set of STi7 wheels and tyres in his van You guessed it I bought them
I just had to get a shot of my car next to the 22B
I have removed the inlet manifold so the injector rails can be modified by Mef, the turbo has been sold and a TD05 FE is in the boot waiting to go back in it's place, air filter and box have been removed to make way for a CAI kit that I will need to source a few bits for. The intercooler is for sale as I have got a STi4 unit that has been opened and recored by pace and is nearly a inch deeper accross the surface area. Need to get pictures of that before it goes to barretts.
The injectors are in the post, the link ecu is being sent from NZ, Mark A from LP is sending over the fuel pump, oil pump and head gaskets this week so hopefully it may be back in one piece after they have finished this one
This is the state of mine at the moment
I have a set of techno magnesio wheels for sale if anyone is interested, they all have a scuff/kerb mark of some description and the tyres aren't that great Looking for £280 they are all straight and will fit over the Alcon/brembo brakes ideal track wheels/tyres.
I was clearing out the garage this afternoon and come across this
I thought I best dust her off and turn her over I'm off the weekend and if its dry I may treat myself to a rideout
There's more to come
