Default Project car in Hungary

Hi

I just thought I would put up my car here as it took a a while to build and is now nearly finished.

MY00 Impreza GT turbo
2.2 stroker
FMIC
850cc injectors
3" Mongoose exhaust (from turbo back catless)
ITS 60-1 turbo
ITS Minigate, external WG
JUN equal length headers
JUN high lift camshafts (not yet installed)
MY03 6 speed box (with center diff)
MY03 Brembos front and and rear
Hydraulic hand brake
MoTeC M48 PRO with ALS, and launch control
Running 1.85 bars from 4800-7500rpm on road fuel.
Carbon bonnet
Carbon trunk

I don't know how much power the car puts on the ground, but for me it's quite enough.

Here are a couple of pics:

WOW!
And I thought a TD 20g was big...
How does it drive?
Is the power delivery progressive or abrupt?
Must be lots of room for such a turbo a the car is LHD, bit confusing at first

Very nice car, what a great engine spec.

Nice car mate...It'd be nice to see what it does, when the expected end results?

Thanks for the comments guys.

The cars height is unfortunately not lowerable, since the roads over here are really trash, so it's not worth it.

Here is an acceleration graph which was done with a G-tech Pro Competition.

This was measured before the last remap, when the car was running 1.6 bars, and very rich in fuel. Also the car already had the winter tyres on. We are guessing power between 430-450 hp. Unfortunately there is no place where I can take the car on a dyno, unless I go to Austria with it.

But nevertheless have a look. I am really happy with it, but really eager to have the cams put in, and see what it does then.

Power delivery is progressive from 0 bar to 1.0 bar, from there it spools up really fast , and you get squashed in the seats...

...in 5th gear

The 60ft time is very impressive. What tyres were you using to gain this?
The best I've managed is 2.07 for 64 ft (2 secs = 1G) on very sticky tyres.
Do you think the launch control played a significant part in this?

Great result. Have you got any other build pictures?

Remember this 60 feet time is with 6" rollout. The tyres were 205/55-17 AVON CR 85 Winter tyres.

Anything close to 2.0 @ 60", is in my opinion a good launch for a 4wd car with street rubber. Here are 2 graphs with 0" rollout. Notice on the second graph (the red one) it starts out better than the other one, 0-60 is 0.3 of a second quicker, but due to the water getting a bit hot, the computer lowered the boost.

Interesting...
If I'm not racing at a hillclimb i do Start Line marshal duty, so get very close to the various cars on the startline.
Several EVO's etc have launch control (GEMS + MOTEC) and they all cough and splutter chaoticly for about 5 seconds before the launch, and they're GONE.
Your launches are different!
Still, 2.00 secs launch is really good for 60 ft especially on those tyres.
I use Kumho V70's and the car has 314 bhp/280 lbft.

You are doing well!
Where's your peak torque? Gear change at 7500 sounds about right, gets the change to 2nd just outside the 64 foot mark!
Very interesting.

Graham, i was consistently getting between 1.6 and 2.0 seconds for 60 ft times in Augusta and september last year, using either Toyo t1-s 215/40/17, Bridgestone S02's 225/35/18 or Dunlop DJ01's 215/45/17.

The previous year on toyo 215/35/18's i would get between 1.8 and 2.0 second 60fts

P20:

Is that a true standing start?
On a hill climb, the start line is covered in rubber from previous competitors, is clean, and is level.
The time is set on a precise strut, and the light beam is set at 64 feet.

2 secs is a good bench mark, anything less is really good!
There is a 700 bhp short wheelbase Audi Quattro with 9'' slicks who can pull 1.8's, beating everything to the '64 feet'.
1.8 on Toyo's is remarkable! However, my best time have been on Toyo's also (2.07)
Are these starts on a drag strip, ie Santa Pod? If so, the traction could be much better.
Everyone thinks Drag Racing is easy till you try to do it well....
Those starts are on what spec of car and gearbox?
