Took the LED's off the KL display box and fitted them to my centre pod... the position of the LED's is in excellent line of my vision now and its got rid of the black box
Only problem is when the sun bis shining i cant see the lights very well... thinking of adding a beeper for when it hits red light or when it hits second amber... will be looking into that side of it...

Do you just extend the wiring with the LED's on the end and re-solder or do you need to add other bits like messing around with resistors?

I didn't do too well at GCSE Electronics, got a D . The resistors used to smoke and give off a right pong!!!!

So explanations in simpleton language greatly accepted.

Extend the wires.

I used a red wire & a green wire per LED as its important to keep the connection round the right way - wrong way round & no lighting up.

So, de-solder each LED & as it comes out, I bent the leg of the one closest to the edge, so that I could remember it. Then green wires to bent legs & red wires to straight legs - simple.

Holes in dash to take LED holders (3mm flat & 5mm flat for the biggy, about 6p each from Maplins), LEDs inserted & Bob is the President.

Very simple to do, but be careful with your soldering for dry joints etc.

Or pay a TV Repair shop to do it

I need to add LED holders to mine make it look a bit more neat..

Good advice on using different coloures for the wires...
just one small thing to add,you can reduce the number of wires from one side of the LED's to just only one wire and connect all the LED legs to that one wire.. this is the common side of the LED's...

What you really can't get an idea of is with the LEDs lit, but we don't want that

Suffice to say that when any LEDs come on, they are easily seen

n00b - 218.2 is the mileage since the engine was put in

80 miles to SS, so 700 more miles of running in

In fact its about 680 now...

Usually get between 28 & 32 mpg, lets see how economic the new engine is
