First off all its funny what skelertons may be lurking under the bonnet the pics below show some one in the factory/other pinched the hose from the intercooler to the intake

Ok nice easy job take out the old intercooler fit in the new, pics below to show the slight difference between the standard intercooler and the one fitted to the STI7

This was alot quicker than expected, when I fitted my samco inlet hose it took 2 ppl to refit the intercooler

All done

Hi Fuz

I just wondered what you did to the underbonnet tray which seals around the old WRX intercooler. The STi one is bigger and would assume it would need a new underbonnet tray??

I ask because I've ordered as STi IC and Samco hoses and was wondering what do do?

Thanks

the underbonnet tray which seals around the old WRX intercooler is only about an inch smaller so does not need changing

you will need a STi7 scoop though for it to work 100%

check the hoses are for a STi7 and not a WRX there may be a difference, I was lucky mine came with the hoses

Fuz

I'll leave the original underbonnet tray as it is I have just checked and I did order the STi hoses of JW racing. Thanks for the reminder to check.

I already have the STi bonnet scoop

Cheers

picture above best show the difference between the standard wrx intercooler and the sti one, you can see the sti is slightly longer and wider, I think its deeper as well, just drops straight in with the fitting holes already in the brackets.
