Default New rally car build.

[/IMG]
Finally coming back to rallying after 22 years of being away. After rallying fords for 20 years from MK1's to 3 door cosworths, the Scooby is the choice of car. Here are a few pictures from the strip down to the nearly finished rally car.

The start of the strip down, with removing the dash and getting rid of the air con, sound deadening and all the other parts that are not needed.

kevin and I are building the car together trying to get the scoobie up to my previous standard . we are trying to get the best for our money everything new. when we got the car I put a post on scottish scoobies for second hand parts ,not a peep from anybody . anyway back to our build . OMP cage offered up to shell ,standard impreza cage with my modifications to make it stronger . A pillar brackets made to fit shell B pillar brackets fabricated to join shell to main loop.

Having built many cars for motorsport I decided I wanted to give the cage more strength so I welded in a cross tube along the seat aperture catching the transmission tunnel to formulate an extra pair of upward tubes behind the seats

I will post more pics soon any questions welcome cheers

On deciding on the cars suspension it was decided that super pro was the product of choice with hardrace rear arms. All easy to get a hold of and is very well made gear.

Some before and after pictures of under the bonnet. The master cylinder was removed to make way for a compbrake bias pedal box to split the braking from front to rear.
