Default GC8simon's Hawkeye build

Hey guys the names simon, im currently 19 and driving this S reg classic non turbo subaru, ive being involved in the scene ever since i was young, starting back in 2009 when i visited ScoobyShootout and ten of the best i fell in love, here stood next to my dream car the 22B;

I was 13 at the time and ever since then i nagged my dad to buy a subaru, in the end i ended up paying for half the car and we ended up with this;

I was in love, cleaned it every single night and the fact i could go to school and say i owned a subaru impreza (well half of one at least) was the best feeling ever, so here it was back in its glory with a few changes (plus a towbar)

Which at this point also got my mum hooked and she bought a hawkeye non turbo which was already fitted with the wrx kit

Since i was young and it was bound to happen i lost interest and started to go out with friends etc so my dad took it on as a project so here are some bad quality photos i use to take whenever i was in the garage;

killing all the rust and refurbishing and replacing the lot as he went through it;

which here you can see the rear diff and shafts all cleaned and painted up;

it was then decided to undergo serious exterior renovation by removing all the graphics and changing the body styling to suit the wrx look;

And once painted looked much better!

The interior was also all gutted and sti seats and an omp deep dish wheel were put in;

The car was parked up for numerous years after becoming impractical, since me passing my driving test and to busy modifying honda's my dad decided to get the car road worthy ready to sell, (1 month prior to now) once i did an insurance quote and realised how much better than my civic it would be to own i finally got it, after the 6 years wait i finally know what it feels like to be able to drive the subaru we bought all them years back. So heres some more upto date photo's for you all.

mother still has her's

since im an apprentice mechanic i got it up on the ramp one dinner and inspected the work i never appreciated or noticed all them years ago and heres how she has held up, sparkling gloss black, also sporting a prodrive backbox and hayward and scott middle section and decat pipe.

I poured money into honda's and currently im selling everything i purchased, all of the funds i make i hope to save for a p1 in many years to come! As for plans with this car? wrx front bumper, wrx rear bumper spats, either prodrive pff7 wheels or revolution speedlines as im not to sure and maybe a lighting pod and 555 sticker graphics but who knows im just to busy playing and enjoying it!

Looks well kept!

A facelift bumper would set this off a treat, it's a simple replacement, just one bracket needs cutting off from memory (I did this when I was 18 too).

Replacement wheels would also improve it. Personally would not bother with pod or stickers but that's just me.

Finally I would highly recommend fitting unequal length headers, they give the Impreza burble we all know and love, that the non-turbo's don't possess as standard...

Best of luck and enjoy!

I second this, a v4 front bumper would look good along with a v4 STI spoiler.

I'd keep it clean and simple IMO no graphics or pods

Thanks for the advice, I am going to be looking out for a front bumper, I've already got the side skirts, sti rear bumper and spats at home they all need painting and I wouldn't mind some of the sti rear clear lights! For now I'm going to throw on the solid 5 spoke sti alloys I also have until I find something that takes my fancy, and I'm planning on a manifold decat and maybe a blitz nur spec backbox

Thanks, since this is my first and it's a bit of a fun I am still swaying towards stickers just to get the bug out of my system but in years to come the p1 won't have any!

So im back with another somewhat of an update, got some new wheels for the Subaru, I wanted prodrive pff7's but couldn't find any 17" ones so a local chap ended up selling me his inovite redlines instead, covered in brake dust from his brembo's I used auto finesse acid wheel cleaner and watched it work its magic;

So once id done all 4 it was onto fitting them, and all I can say is what an improvement, the colour has grown on me hugely, and im fully aware of the work it needs to get the rest of the car looking presentable but ive got my list to do

And a photo to end with;

Thoughts and comments much appreciated, next job is fitting the rear spats and either scoobyworld mud flaps or sti rear lights!

Tough question, on paper the hawkeye has more bhp but it is a heavier car. The classic was quick due to the power x weight scenario, both cars have catback exhausts. The hawkeye is a much nicer car to drive and the styling looks great to me. Either way i have plans for the Hawk!

So how about an update for you guys, not alot has happened just keeping on top of it keeping it clean etc, changed the cambelt and gave it a good service. Tried the inovites i bought for the classic on and well ive still got them on to this day;

Afterwards the Hayward and Scott wasnt quite to my taste, it wasnt loud enough as id have liked and it was pretty restrictive so i order the Afterburner Raptor angled exhaust from Scoobyworld:

And fitted

Looking good Bet that Raptor is loud, I had one on my hawk STi and it was loud, must be even louder on a NA impreza as you have no turbo silencing the sound!!!

Impreza's are addictive though, Ive had 8 of the things, my family have all owned Impreza's and my dad still has his Bug WRX wagon that he had for the last 7-8 years, I need to get myself in another one soon!!

Thanks guys! The Raptor is definatley loud but i have a god awful amount of baffles left in the cat and manifold but im on with sorting that out as we speak! So here's a photo of the raptor i got after giving it a clean;

I've been taking good care of the bodywork and after a few coats of fusso was impressed with the beading i was left with;

So now here's what ive being buying recently lets see who can spot the two upgrades;

So yes Ht Auto's front lip and blobeye rear lights, happy with how much they have changed the car already. Ive got a few more things yet on the mod list so keep your eyes on the thread. On a side not anyone care to tell me how i rename the thread title? Thanks

So not alot has really happened just focus on keeping it all clean and tidy, so here's a few general pictures;

The only noticeable thing ive done is debadged the rear to make it look cleaner

In terms of future mods and plans? i don't really have any, i turn 21 next year and currently saving for a JDM hawk or Spec C but time will tell.

Comments welcome.
