My Subaru Impreza Wrx Sti Spec C - Toshi Arai Editon
Well after looking for the right hawkeye sti impreza of some sort, I found this car for sale.
After a phone call and about 1000 text messages I sent a deposit and got on the train on the 8th august
Which was just shy of 7 hours I got there, the car was 75% as described ( I do admit I'm a very **** person when buying a car ) I nearly got the train back until I drive it and my god what a car!
6 hour hassle free drive home and I was completely knackered!
• JDM is stronger 2.0ltr UK/Europe is ‘chocolate’ 2.5ltr
• Twin scroll turbo
• Nitride coated, cross drilled crank
• 13:1 STi quick rack
• Slightly larger intercooler design
• Auto and manual intercooler spray (UK get manual activation only)
• More aggressive inlet cams
• Equal length headers
• Electric folding wing mirrors
• 235 width tyres (UK get 225)
• 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th same as UK, 5th and 6th are shorter
• Front STi titanium strut brace
• 8,000rpm redline
The MY07 Spec C is approx 90Kg lighter than the standard STi due to the following changes:
• Rear wash wipe **deleted**
• Privacy glass **deleted**
• Deadlocks **deleted**
• Boot trim and carpet **deleted**
• Passenger sun visor **deleted**
• Grab handles **deleted**
• Ski hatch **deleted**
• Glove box light **deleted**
• Isofix child seat fixing point **deleted**
• Underseal **deleted**
• Sound deadening **deleted**
• Map lights **deleted**
• Speakers in rear doors **deleted**
• Centre diagonal inertia seatbelt **deleted**
• Side airbags **deleted**
• HID headlights **deleted**
However, the Spec C has the following changes over and above even the JDM STi:
• Thinner lightweight glass
• Lightweight roof
• Aluminium bonnet and boot lid
• 12 litre intercooler spray bottle mounted behind the rear seats
• Different radiator and water pump
• Engine & transmission oil coolers
• Roller bearing version of the twin scroll turbo
• Rear strut brace
• Lightweight front subframe
• Performance revolving chamber fuel pump (anti surge)
• Black seats, door panels and carpet
• Stiffer chassis with revised welding
• Larger intake pipe
• Roof vent
• Smaller 50 litre fuel tank
• Smaller lightweight battery
First thing was to have it fully detailed and a few bits to touched up, I then done a bit of research on the
Oils and parts with a few prices....at this time had it dyno'd and made 316bhp with cat fitted ( has been Ecutek'd ) with that I was shocked as it seems so much faster on the road! as it was stated to be 350bhp
I then ordered -
Motul gearbox oil
Motul diff oil
Motul antifreeze
Hks racing Kevlar belt w/ idlers and tensioners
Performance friction Z pads
I then had the exhaust, oils and pads fitted by http://danwrightvehicleservices.co.uk after that it was booked in to www.cliveatthowetuning.co.uk to have the cambelt and another power run with this time making 328bhp (18 psi ) after that I found out that the ECU has only been flashed once! So it's now going back to Clive atthowe tuning for a custom remap in the coming weeks, in the mean while I'm going to get underneath and give it a good wire brush and clear wax oyl as this car has never been undersealed.
The car has covered 33k, hardly used since i got it been in the garage were it will live
My future plans are in order
Underneath
Custom remap
New wheels as I don't like these fitted ( I do have the standard white wheels )
Here are a few pictures as it looks now -
Couple on the dyno this week -
Cambelt replacement -
Cambelt only got replaced less than 10k ago, I had to have it done
Hope you like and I will keep it updated.

Not really done a lot , currently running on TD 1.2's with new bridgstone S001's and it's been cleaned and garaged.
Booked in for a custom map on the 17th and after that it will be it until next year.
Next years plan -
Coilovers
Wheels
AP's
Underneath sealed and painted.
