Default MY00 V6 type r Limited

Bought the car from Ireland a few months back looking like this

After a long drive home it was clear the car needed some work, speedometer not working, intermittent misfire, clutch slipping, brakes very poor, tracking out amongst others

Spec is fairly standard apart from apexi air filter, hks headers and exhaust and tein coilovers

With the car home I could have a proper look around, wheels off found this on both front tyres. 4 budgets are fitted so new will be ordered and a geometry check

Also with wheels off I found 3 struts were indeed tein with one odd shock on the near side rear. All coil overs are not in great nick so ill source new ones

I then fitted the standard bonnet scoop and am in the process of fitting the standard splitter after it and the bumper has been resprayed

Fitted an rcm filter, samco matrix and coolant hoses. Replaced the worn looking inlet with a refurbished item from rcm and gave the engine bay a clean up. Removed the front bumper which was very loose on the passenger side, found a rusted out support. Being replaced after removal of p1 splitter. Original splitter to be fitted. Air con rad is damaged so new will be fitted too

Rear brembos have been bought once refurbished they'll be fitted with the intention to fit front brembos too

More to come soon

nice project there, wish I had a barn that big I could work on my car inside !!

In fact having a garage that isn't full of stuff would be useful

Brakes removed all round, front pistons seized solid with the piston chambers in the calipers rusted and pitted badly. Suspension then also removed all round to find them leaking and in poor condition. Brembos sourced and bought all round as well as some v5 type r inverted strut suspension. Few small areas with surface rust that will be treated and under sealed prior to rebuild.

Here's how she looks at the moment. Update soon!

Should look good once minted up!!! Noticed a lot of people are making there Impreza's mint now, remember the days when everyone wanted 500bhp and the project section was full of big bhp builds, now we are seeing more and more cars being stripped back and made to look as good as they did when they come out the factory.

Keep up the good work, looking forward to this thread!!
