VW Corrado 1.8 16V '91J Met Silver/Grey
SOLD !!!!
After almost 13 years of continuous ownership I have decided to sell my beloved VW Corrado. Bought in '94 by me when she was just 3 years old with 45k on the clock, I have lavished many £000's on her upkeep. In 2000, at about 87k miles I replaced every component on the corners including springs, dampers, topmounts, bearings, disks, pads, all bushes, wishbones, links, trackrod ends etc etc etc.
Shortly after all this work the head gasket went resulting in a damaged cylinder head. I managed to source a fully remanufactured engine from renowned engine suppliers Wege for less than a new head, and fitted this along with a new clutch and full renovation of the gearbox. These components have now done less than 30k miles with the current reading at 116,225. More recently she had new master and slave clutch cylinders, along with the associated pipework.
She is fitted with a Scorpion full stainless exhaust, and never had a catalyst. Has 17" OZ Superlegerra alloys with 4 nearly new Hankook Ventus tyres. I have a nearly new Sony CD headunit to go in but haven't got 'round to wiring it in which will be included.
The automatic rear spoiler is fully operational, as are the electric windows, mirrors and central locking. On the downside, the sunroof has just started acting up. The motors seem to be working fine, but it isn't running correctly on its guides and so doesn't open well on slide but tilts just fine.

A stunning example of this modern classic, £1,795.
PS. She's due an MOT which I will sort in the next week or so, and has 1 months tax remaining. Located in Leeds, West Yorks.

Just bought matching [puke] Fabia vRS's for some reasonably rapid, extremely economical, totally reliable motoring. She isn't really suitable for our future plans and would be better in the hands of an enthusiast who'll have time to love her and drive her as she deserves.

Actually, it's hardly ever been touched with Megs. Mostly it has been treated to Simoniz Original pure Carnuba wax. Bloody hard work to put on, but the results speak for themselves, and none of the polymer based products I have tried come anywhere near for longevity. Only concerns about chemical stability during a hot summer have swayed me towards the newer products like Blackfire, Chem Guys M, Jeffs etc, but in autumn, winter and spring, if you can spare the time and are prepared for a 12 hour + application then Simo wins hands down for me.

Anyway, you're selling your car...........

Most Carnuba waxes are suspended in a petroleum distillate which will strip a polymer sealer off during its application. I sometimes do just this however as a cleaning phase, following wash, clay and polish, a polymer sealer will leave the surface very smooth and make application of the Carnuba much easier. TBH though, these days I just don't have the time, so the ease of use on the new products draws me

Definitely. The clay removes bonded surface contaminents that washing can't/won't get off, and in a gentler way than scrubbing. I'd only do it once or twice a year, but well worthwhile.

I don't think the intended purpose will be very fruitful, trying to sell and old German coupe on a 4X4 Jap saloon car forum
