Thumbs up Apple G3 PowerBook (Pismo)

edited for price change
OK - a bit of an introduction for those who don't know Mac. This was the PowerBook Apple pretty much got right!!

The reason why I'm selling it is that this is one Mac too many (got a few now!) and Wifey wants it out of the way.

The specs are available here, but mine's upgraded a bit.

The package includes :-

Pre-loaded with OSX 10.4.7
Microsoft Office v.X

Hardware -
G3 "Pismo" 400Mhz
Upgraded to 512Meg RAM
9.2Gig Hard Drive
DVD Rom Unit
Airport (WIFI)
D-Link Bluetooth dongle (rare as rocking-horse whatsit) - the only one that works with the G3 PowerBooks
Extra Mouse
Extra authentic Apple PSU
Laptop bag included.

The only thing that is wrong is that the screen has a small scratch - it's annoying more than anything, but you can only see it in certain lights.

I can leave the additional music software if necessary, as I have been using it with my MOTU Firewire Interface and Logic Express.

Offers around £250 (yes, they're going cheaper elsewhere, but not with the same amount of extras)

Some piccies -

Not a bad little computer really

Is a bit pricey TBH, I reckon £150-£200 is more realistic. Keep an eye on ebay to give you an idea of guide prices.

Goosd machines though have one myself in by Mac collection.

Take on board what you guys have said

I've changed the price - but still think it's closer to the £250 mark.

I've got one just like that How do you find it runs with Tiger I've stuck with Panther as I didn't think it would be up to the job, our G4 Quicksilvers at work groan a little.

Oh, and I bought a Belkin USB Bluetooth dongle that works just fine.

Good luck with the sale. I'm gonna accidentally drop mine and claim on the 'new for old' policy when Leopard comes out. Can't decide between an MBP, iMac or Mini

Works fine on Tiger mate. I too was concerned about the performance, but putting into context what it would be used for (basic word, Internet, Email etc), it runs sweet.

I've even had it running music sequencing software too (Logic Express). Gonna load Reason onto it later, just to see how it copes.....

DAn

FWIW, I got the MBP, as I've already got a G4 and G5.... (like I said, too many macs!! )
