Miles,

Could you describe these wheels please, or even direct me towards a picture of them?

Thanks,

Ian

I have now scanned a picture of my wheels (not great quality I know) and put it on the web-page mentioned above.

I'm sure i read somewhere that putting 17's on the car limits the upgrade options on your brakes.....

tho saying that im more than a little interested, what sort of wonga we talking here ?

Talking

I was hoping to get enough from the sale of my wheels to cover the difference in insurance for the M3 (around £750). Considering that i paid £1150 for wheels and tyres i think this is a fairly reasonable price to ask.

As for brake upgrades these wheels will fit on a legacy gtb which has 16" Front Rotors and 4-Pot Calipers so i would imagine that they will fit over most impreza brake upgrades (unless someone knows different ?)

Just out of interest, what are your reasons for changing from a great car to a common characterless repmobile?

I occasionally think of switching to rear drive myself (supra tt or m3 evo), more tailhappy fun at much safer speeds. The Impreza is soetimes just too good, i.e. boring!

Exclamation

Adam,

Having previously owned a Jag XJR and then a Toyota Aristo Twin Turbo (Lexus GS300 with Supra Twin Turbo Engine) i find that i am missing some creature comforts with the impreza. There is no doubt that the Scooby is a great car so i think i must be turning into an "old man" at 24!!!.

Is the M3 EVO a repmobile ?

Miles

The M3 is my pet hate car, but that aside I have 2 questions.

Don't you think its a tad over priced?

Isn't there a new more powerful ( 340bhp ) model due out soon, why not wait for that?

The subaru is now becoming semi popular, the M3 is now and always has been everywhere, that is why I hate them. That and the I've got a bmw mentality. People buy them and also buy BMW keyfobs so that you cant avoid showing everyone what you drive.

And they are all blue and where I live all have a number plate starting with M3.

Oooh how special they look!

sorry, hate bmws always.

(sadly for me, it is a great car, has an amazing engine (half of a mclaren F1 block) and an even better gearbox)

It is normally the people behind the wheel that ruin that car for me.

P.S. My stepmum drives the new 328 coupe which I believe to be inferior to the older model, but the M3 based on it is far better looking, has piles of troque and 340 bhp.

If you are lucky it might be faster than the scooby, but I doubt it.

Good luck anyway, didnt mean to put a dampner on your new purchase.

Regards,

Adam

Best offer so far is £700 from a local import dealer.
As for the M3 i have noticed that the same dealer has just got a R reg WRX STI 4 Door, may be worth a look (perhaps a faster Impreza will change my mind!!!)he wants £17,995 for it, is that reasonable ?
I would still want to sell the wheels whatever happens, so any advance on £700.
