Wink Unfinished project - bargain!

Finally had enough of this project and after many months of buying parts have decided to buy a Skyline ;-)

The car is a 1998 STi type RA special edition (A/C, C/L, roof vent etc.) in Sonic Blue. Over the past year the car has probably covered 2,000 miles and after a disastrous engine rebuild I have given up. Specification is as follows:

Engine
EJ25 block crank and rods (needs reboring to first oversize) (N)
Turbo Dynamics hybrid turbo MD321
STi II heads complete
HKS FMIC (N) PROVISIONALLY SOLD
Walbro 255/ltr fuel pump (N)
SX fuel regulator with parallel fuel conversion (N) - NOW SOLD
Exedy organic clutch (N)
4.5kgs lightweight flywheel (U)
Crankshaft sensor (U)
Camshaft sensor (U)
HKS style dump valve (N)
Complete blue Samco set (N) - NOW SOLD
Samco inlet pipe (U)
GGR induction kit (N) NOW SOLD
MAF sensor (U)
MAP sensor (U)
Lambda sensor (U)
Apexi power FC with commander (U)
Magnex decat 2.5" downpipe/centre section (N)
Scoobysport backbox (U)

Suspension
Whiteline droplinks (N)
Whiteline ARB (N)
Whiteline rear strut brace (N)
Whiteline anti-lift kit (N)
17" gold Rota wheels with Toyo Proxes (N) NOW SOLD

Brakes
AP 4 pots (U) with DS2500 pads (N) NOW SOLD

Interior
4 point harnesses (N)
3 x Autogauges mounted in centre pod (N)
Knocklink (not fitted) (N) - NOW SOLD
Toad Cat 1 alarm
Tracker - NOW REMOVED

There are other things probably that I can't remember. Basically the car can be put on the road with a rebore, new pistons/rings and will need to be re-built and re-mapped.

NOW BREAKING

Thanks

Question Feedback

Nearly 240 views and no comments guys and gals? Is it overpriced or is nobody buying at the moment?

Any pics?

Where are you based?

How much approx would a rebuild cost? Had any quotes?

I would love one of these but the cost of insuring a modified one would surely be ridiculous!

I am based in Teesside mate. If you are mechanically minded (which I am not) then you should be able to get it on the road for between £1,000-£1,500 I reckon. Make no mistake that this will make an absolute rocket with the RA gearing and 2.5ltr engine torque and power. As far as insurance goes, I consider it to be "standard" ;-) A lot of the guys on here seem to recommend A Plan I think for insurance?

No offense to you mate, but personally, i don't think i could keep a couple of cams in a box like that, ontop of a clutch cover, or a crankshaft on the floor. I'd be a bit scared of scoring them, or something.

No offence taken mate. The bits are all laid out in a locked room now and well protected.

Anyone want to make me an offer?

People are buying but this project looks a little steep for the risk involved IMO. You asked!

That said it could be good at the right price - cheap!

I'd say sell the parts and fit a cheap, stock engine to sell the car as complete.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Definitely thinking about selling off the bits now and breaking the car which is a real shame. Going to leave it as a job lot for a bit longer and see what develops ;-)

Thumbs up

If it was a complete running car I think you could get £8500 but as it is I reacon that £7000 is a more realistic price . But who knows you might get a mechanic who wants to have a side project, I would of thought that it could make a good base for a rally car as well. Anyway, good luck with the sale mate and if you do break it I would be interested in the downpipe at least and depending how far you go the spoiler and sti rear lights also.

What sort of power output would you think this car would have once running?

Cool

Hi George

Didn't know you'd ventured back into scoob world. Thinking about it, its over four years since I bought your MY00. Its still going strong albeit with one or two little extras. Its been leading a settled and pampered life for a while now as my second car, although we may finally part company in the next few months

Sorry to hear the latest venture has snagged.

BTTT for a decent chap
