Default R5 GT Turbo- Fully rebuilt and restored to high spec.

I searched high and low before i brought it from a guy that is very well respected in the R5 fraternity and ironically stumbled across Neil Fletcher Racing Svs only 5 miles from me! So i ensured plenty of cross communication between the previous owner to me and Neil to verify all was as it seemed and top spec, clearly it was or would not have touched it.

Neil has suggested a couple of minor adjustments purely from experiance working and knowing these little rockets over the last 20 years.

I will not bull**** you i paid good money for this as i wanted no comebacks or issues with it whilst running in and beyond.

The spec speaks for itself and condition is excellent in and outside, only the few car park dings, bearing in mind how light the French panels are, the car only weighs 750kg so now ran in Neil recommends that with the quality of components used in build and his compression test that he is happy to lift the standard 7psi to 17psi re-jetting carb and setting valves and tappetts. This has lifted the 120 bhp standard to between 160-170 bhp!

All general wear and tear stuff like tyres, discs and pads are nearly new.

I have had endless amounts of fun in this.

Driving this little 5 with its power, handling and braking upgrades just entices you to keep the power on, and with its no power steering, big rubbers just feels like your in a go kart!

I would stick my neck out and say it will out run a 300 bhp classic on the twisties and is no way a slouch on the straights either.

Since owning i have had top quality HT leads, new top plugs, Fuel pressure reg and obviously oil/filter fitted.

I would be interested in a swap/px on a classic scoob with at least suspension/brakes/remap upgrades as basic with either low miles or rebuild also.

Absolutely stunning example mate wish I had the money as it looks a bargain for a great example of a rare car.
Think your selling it a bit cheap in my opinion as they are fetching good money. Good luck with the sale

That looks fantastic. Wheels look spot on and look so big for just 16". Seeing this takes me back to early 90's when I started driving. Loads of my friends had them with the required scorpion exhaust. I am wondering whether this one was originally from Derby, it looks familiar (the plate) it used to have standard bodywork but with a small cut out in the front and rear bumpers.
Good luck with sale. Not many around like this now

Appreciate the positive comments guys

Yes she really is testiment to previous owners who collectively have churned out a very well modified R5, keeping looks fairly standard, have thought about reducing size of FMIC as to fit another bumper without having to cut away fogs as i love the yellow fogs/driving lights on these.

Just itching to get back in a scoob

Going on pistonheads in couple of weeks if nothing on here.

Thanks folks.

160 bhp does not sound that much but comparing 160bhp=750kg to a 260bhp=1250ishkg classic, then it becomes clear what a little weapon and usable power you have in such a small car.

I had a brand new one in 1988 in tungsten grey. As said earlier it went around corners like a roller skate. Great cars. Steve.
