Default Use bumper back to black on your VAG car ?

There are tons of products on the market to get those fading bumpers back to black. Most of them consist of a gel or fluid that at first bring your grey washed out bumpers and trims back to black.......for a short period.

Well found a nice little trick the other day and decided to try it out on my wife's MK3 Anniversary Golf. Gave the car a nice clean and then using nothing but a heat gun and patience set to it.

Before

After

Just be careful to use a heat gun that has a deflector plate to keep the heat away from the paint and don't try this on a scoob, the paint is far too thin !!

Wipe it over with old oil and it keeps it looking good

Will report back after a month to see how well it has fared

Peanut butter will keep it black. I've been using autofinesse revive on my trim, and it's awesome. My trims weren't that grey, but after a month it showed no signs of fading.

Peanut butter is for eating mate

It has the same principle of adding oils to it, in this case from the peanuts.
As the sun dries the oils out the trim goes grey. Using the heat gun makes the oils rise to the surface and then wiping it with further old oil keeps it replenished
