Default New car ideas.

Hi all I currently do about 12 miles to work and back each day and not much at the weekends it's always around 3-5k pa.

I would like to buy something cheaper than my Scooby not that it's expensive to run but I think I would enjoy using it at just weekends.

Not really got a budget but around 5k would be nice can go
Higher for right car and able to lug kids around etc

So ideally good on fuel and tax and must look ok.

Thanks

If you are only doing 3-5 k pa you can't be spending more than £25-£30 a week on fuel.

Don't buy an RX8 lol, mine is currently averaging 17mpg Although this is mostly around town. Great fun to drive though.

Well if you're keeping the Impreza then you don't need anything with mega performance.

A Vectra or Mondeo / Mazda 6 would get my vote. Can be run into the ground and easy to get bits for. Can you get an Insignia for that kind of dorrah yet?

Clio 182 - average mpg 32-34mpg, £260 VED, 12k/2yr service intervals, 0-60 sub-7 secs and gokart handling, great for weekend blasts. I've had mine for 6 years and not missed a beat.
