Default Fitting a new radio to our V reg Clio

As above

Slipped out the old radio to find it has 3 connectors on the back yet the conversion loom in the Panasonic new radio box only has two connectors that link into the single ISO needed for the new radio (see pics below).

Am I missing something stupid? is one of the old radio connectors for the steering wheel controls and can be left off?

Cheers

Shaun

Does the old radio link to a seperate screen in the dash as my corsa used the same and you only need the two ISO connectors to run the new radio as it has it's own built in screen.

I'm sure some of the ice gurus will provide more info though

There is a small screen in the dash with the time on it...... By ISO connectors do you mean the two top ones?

Cheers

Yes the top two in the first picture will link to the connector shown in the second pic, the third connector will then be redundant as this one will send the radio information to the screen and/or work the steering wheel control if it has one and unfortunately both will be redundant.

Hope this helps.

if you wanted to keep the steering wheel controller you can buy additional cables but for what they cost its not worth it

also iirc from my clio you may have to swap the yellow and red cables

Hi Ant /W1 8ean

Yep, that's it I think............lose the steering wheel controller which I don't use anyway

Another silly question (sorry) the old stereo has 4 holes in the front to remove but the new one has a flat key.....do I just bung the new radio in the same slot>

Thanks

Shaun

PS W1, are you a Bean or a Sean?

The new radio should have come with its own cage that you have to swap with the old one for it to fit and lock in properly. Cage being the bit that sits in the dash that holds the radio in. It may be that the radio fits the old cage but may not lock in properly due to it having different locking mechanisms i.e the old one has twin keys (4 holes) and the new has flat keys.

Hope this helps

Oh and yes it's Bean (old nickname that I had at school and has stuck for the last 18 yrs or so) lol!
