Just collected a second-hand car from a dealer and it has the most awful squeak as the windows are lowered, just the first second or so as the glass slides out of the top rubber seal, probably all too clean ! So what type of lubricant can I spray onto the window seal to prevent the squeak ?

Try something like Mr Sheen on the rubber.

 

Silicone Lubricant, You can get it from Halfords probably cheaper elsewhere though.

 

Yep, silicone grease will do it
