Quite like that. The four wheel drive system sounds "interesting" mind you, predominately front wheel drive with a clutch to engage the rears when things get tasty - could work, could be sh*te.
As for 40 mpg, maybe if you really tried, I could get 40mpg out of my Turbo 2000 Scoob but only when I was doing a daily 80 mile round trip on the M5 and I really tried i.e drafting lorries etc.
Would be surprised if the average for that would really even get into the 30's
My BMW supposedly has a combined of 40.1, but I rarely see much better than 35-36 and that's an oil burner

As much as I liked my Scoob, the Beemer is a much nicer place to be. But, the main thing I've noticed is the difference in power delivery. This thing pulls hard from about 1500 rpm. The Scoob was gutless until at least 2500...
