Not sure I would spend that sort of money on that. Not the prettiest car I have seen.
I would rather spend £20 -£30 k on a nice MK2 Escort RS2000 or something.

Remember going to Ron Hodgsons years ago looking for a Cossie.Although I thought he was based in Wigan .

Would you really spend that when you could have this:

Or this

Now that puts it in perspective.

...although it does remind me a bit off Goon from Popeye.

Yes, I'd rather have the RS200. A true classic, only 200 were ever made and only about 20 remain, VERY few of them unmolested.

Doesn't look much no, but goes like a bomb.....and grips as well, or better than a Scoob.

Plus, not every rich banker has one.......

But what's the point? You drive it and it loses value so you just park it to ********** to when you're bored?

Yeah, it has what, 350bhp? Gosh how awesome. Things have moved on. You can get a secondhand 911 turbo S for about 25 K now

I think you either get it or you don`t.....and in this case i do, Original 1 owner 1,100 mile RS200`s are so rare its untrue, They have always commanded a premium as far as i can remember even for a bad one or an unofficial one made up of spare parts, I`d have one in a heartbeat

erm... the point is that it is a classic, the same as the db5, the shelby cobra, mclaren f1, the xj220 etc etc. these are cars that most of us will never be able to own, yet alone collect and as such will only go up in price. better off sticking your money (if you have that much spare) into a car collection than putting it in the bank.

You can't compare a mclaren f1 to a ford ! This is my point it's £125k for a ford a pig ugly one at that. Can't even call it a thing of beauty.

As someone who did the whole 80s rally thing and the early 90s rally cross thing, I think it looks ace.

If I had the money I would buy one for sure. It would get used, but in reality its not a road car, even in road trim!

In my book any chassis that comes out of Arch Motorsports is a good car, that includes the RS200.

im not saying its beautiful but you cant argue the fact that it is a classic of its era. what about the lancia delta HF integrale 16v evoluzione ii ? possibly the ugliest car ever made and also the audi quattro, again, ugly as sin but still classics. no, they are not as good looking as the ones i mentioned but they are worthy of any enthusiasts collection.

Look at it,drive it or just to say i`ve got one....whatever, Like i said you either get the RS200 thing or you dont

You could say the same for a lot of cars within the 125K price tag, There are so many collectable classics you could chose from...Would you say whats the point to all of them too, Or is it just because it`s a Ford

You took the words from my mouth you either get it or you don't, and I get you Jef

Not allot to look at granted, but that car has almost an iconic staus, people bang on about McRae and classic scoobs and how legendary they are, this is the same thing, I bet alot of people if they had the money would buy McRae's or Burns genuine rally cars given half the chance, its still only a scoob driven by a guy ( good guys at that ) and why would you buy it? I can't see them using it on the road all that often, the answer is because its rare and legendary and they can sit there looking at it thinking it was the best thing they ever bought, purely for the passion IMO
