Default Looking at a 2003 Focus st170

For a friend, so,anything to look for on these models etc, its a Cat c, so any questions i should ask as he seems to of owned it for 3 yrs
The price seems fair, but friend was looking at nearer the £1k mark, too low ?

looks good, good cars, check rear arches for rust, you can get them which arent car c with simialr milage for £1500 so imo it would have to be sub £1k to interest me....

You have to ask the obvious, what was the damage, who repaired it, any pics of the damage, does it have an inspection certificate carried out after damage was repaired.
As a rule of thumb you usually pay around 30% less for a cat c car.

Decent cars although the Peugeot 306 GTi-6 can be had for similar money and are a much better car in my opinion but if your mate needs the 5 doors then this is the one to go for

Eh? The engine isn't the best but they handle superbly for a FWD car, are well specced and look nice.

Buy carefully and you can have a lot of fun.

fun but thirsty and a bit gutless...some parts are very expensive due to being bespoke for the ST.

I had an 04 reg one between my Classic and Blobeye WRX.

Never got more than 25mpg from it and it was utterly gutless.

Worst car I've ever owned.
