Too pricey. As said on Top gear last night, they're aiming for the younger market, but are pricing out of their reach.
Nice car though. Shame no manual.
I'll stick with the R8.

I didn't watch Top Gear so I've no idea what they said. But if they say it's too expensive then of course they are right.
They obviously know that there aren't any affluent young men that can afford it.
Tell the yanks that it's a car for wealthy young men and then every wealthy middle age man will want a Jagwaar.
Then there's the wealthy young Arabs, tell them that there's a waiting list and they will be queing up to get one first. (as per Evoque).
It's a daring move by Jaguar and I hope that it is a success for them.
Of course, I am biased, in my youth I was a factory accredited Jaguar technician, specialising in the (then new) e-Type V12.

It'll be cheaper in the USA than it will be here.
Young Arabs have more money than some countries, plus it's all Daddies money.
In the UK, it's too expensive. I bet in 18montjs time you'll see more middle aged men in the 'F' type than younger men.
Don't get me wrong, it's a bloody nice car. Just too expensive.

Just done my preferred spec - £89k for the V8.
That is one beautiful car which I would have in a heartbeat over anything else at that price point.

Just off to buy a Lotto ticket....

i fix the cnc machines that make those engines and the v6 block is physically the same size as the v8, but with 2 bores blanked off on the casting! i walk past the cold test area on the assembly line on my way to the canteen, and the sound of these being turned over with no exhaust manifold is nothing short of exquisite!!!

I was invited to a Jaguar customer feedback group on the F Type last summer, they had the car there against a 911 Carrera and a Boxster as peers, but i recall when i specced mine it came in at 108k which certainly is not 911 C or Boxster money!!!
Also the cab (didnt see the coupe) had the best part of sweet fa boot space, the interior had these horrendously chavy "mood" lights which changed the ambiance (the dash and the leds behind door handles etc).....
the problem I have with the car is it looks great but its less practical than the XKR and costs the same sort of money......they argued that this was a sports car where as the XKR was a GT car.....i wasn't sold!

If I was this so called younger customer with £90k burning a hole in my pocket, I could think of better cars to buy than the Jag. The Coupe looks better, so why is it not being sold along side the soft top? Why the wait.
As said above, smaller than the XK, but priced the same. 911 would be my choice for that price.

As it's a Jag it will at least be reliable.... I know you think I'm joking, but they really are well put together these days.
I think modern Jags are much better cars than people realise.... sure many wouldn't have a F type over a 911, but some of that is badge snobbery, not all, but some!

Just find that sometimes a car gets hyped because its pretty then it turns out to be a bit cr4p to drive!

Well we got both the xkr and the xfr and if the new F is anything like these then IMO it will be a great car, I love the way they drive, xk is is a little more livelier than the xf when stepping on the gas, but the xf is a nicer ride and feels more planted IMO and the xf is quicker than the xk, not by a huge margin but it is, and it feels more grunty than the xk for some reason.
Yes they are alot of money but compared to some of the other lavish cars around then they ain't that bad for the amount of car and luxury you get, my dad was looking at a Bentley, drove it and like it, but when he drove the jag he loved it and was quite a fair few ££££'s cheaper for almost an identical spec car to the Bentley but with a different badge, I've also been lucky enough to get to test drive anything we go to look at and must be honest I rate the jag, i'll have to see if I can get a demo model of the F for a couple of days

If I was in the market for something around £80-90 k then I don't think I'd be buying a 911.
I think this Jag looks amazing, look forward to seeing the coupe.
(Having said that, the new Cayman also looks good)
